I just installed these shocks on the rear of my 1955 Ford Fairlane and posted a YouTube video about them. I am pretty happy with the ride and the feel of the rebound so to speak. Wondering if anyone else has these installed on the rear of their mid-50's Ford.
I'm intrigued. Can you add 3" blocks out back and then do another video for us? More seriously though - how did you have your go-pro mounted?
Great video! I have a similar setup on another car that wears a bowtie so I won't mention it here. Have air shocks on rear of my wagon with new springs, I like the adjustability but not the ride of air shocks.
GoPro Mounted on a 1955 Ford Rear Bumper by danman55 posted Apr 4, 2024 at 10:34 PM I grabbed some flat stock and made a bracket that I could mount the GoPro. The other end of the flat stock has a hole to match the center hole in my bumper. Washers were used to keep the chrome from getting scratched. The way the GoPro mount can swivel left/right and up/down really helps to get a good angle. I plan to experiment with this a little more soon - want to get some angles up front, some footage of the gears shifting under the floor pan, etc. It would just bring a nice feature to some of the videos on my channel. Note: the way the GoPro mount works, the camera had to be installed upside down. But this is obviously easy to correct once you load the video onto a computer.
@Rustvelle SS - I have often wondered how an air ride suspension would feel. Nice wagon and great color by the way! @jimmy six - With the new leaf springs and the new coil shocks the rear is up about 1" and a 1/4 but I believe it will settle down after a bit. New bushings and shackles too.
