Hi, I need some help! I count the raised part of the spline from a th 400 trans, yoke and I count 31 plus a space. And I counted that at least 4 times. I was told it should be 32 raised areas and a space. What is what??? Thanks for any help Miller.

It sounds like your yoke has a blind spline. Meaning, missing one for some other application for alignment. Pretty sure they are 32.

  5. Make a centered, straight-on photo and we'll all count how many points.

    that's a 32 spline yoke for a TH400

  8. Looks like 32 to me .
Wouldn’t number 32 fit into the blank spot .

Isn't it supposed to have an end cap...? I thought the empty spline was to vent the lube, for rear axle travel...?

lots of trucks had bolt on yokes, no end cap

but if you're using it as a slip yoke, it might be a tad short, and could leak profusely

Just sayin',,, reason for no slip, is 2 piece shaft the slip is at the middle support.
