  4. I’d assume so. Did you see him at the party yesterday? He said he was planning on going.

Sorry I missed you Don. I was hanging in the corner with Jon Wright and those guys most of the afternoon. Steve did get there late and dropped some copies of issue #86 fresh from the printer, but they were snapped up quickly.

It's my understanding that #86 will be mailing out soon as Scott already said. Of course I'm biased, but I think it's a really solid issue with a lot of cool stuff in it...Jake's latest roadster, killer mild custom Chevy, Ray's sedan delivery shown on that one cover, Ryan Reed's latest in bare metal, great track roadster history from Greg Sharp. It's a great mix. Bill and Anna Ganahl were involved with the tribute to Pat and I think it's very cool and very fitting. Also correct that #87 is pretty far along already.

  7. ...Great news, Curt, and yes, I'm sorry I missed you as well.

  8. It seems the TRJ is still alive and Steve is trying to live up to his promise to subscribers, it would have been so easy for him to say screw it and file for bankruptcy due to business decisions & Covid plus other unforeseen problems, yet he chose to try and fulfill the commitment to the subscribers & lifetime subscribers.

Sure he is way behind but knowing that issue #86 is printed & will be shipped soon is proof that he is trying to live up to his word, I'm not going to complain, maybe with this issue TRJ is on the way back, one could hope that Steve can eventually fulfill the original quarterly publication, only time will tell. I share your sentiments and it shows great strength of character and perseverance on Steve's part to keep going but man I wish he would learn from his past mistakes and actually communicate with all of his general and life time subscribers rather than just the privileged few.

TRJ is such a quality publication. I have a few issues and I'd really like to see it catch. A lotta love goes into it. It's hard to put a product like that out today and still make a buck for yourself. You'd think the guys on this forum of all places would get it.

  11. I agree with you last four posts...great news for sure.

  14. Just got TRJ issue 86 in the mail yesterday. It has Jim Jacobs' 28 roadster on the alternative cover. Not sure if it's the subscription or newsstand cover or if that's even a thing anymore, but clearly there are still two different covers. Anyway, I wanted to share to give you guys the good news. BTW, I have a lifetime subscription. IMG_0250.jpeg

I share the same story, just without the dad aspect. I even talked to Steve at the Nats in Louisville, in person a couple of years ago now. He told me not to worry, I've not gotten replies to messages or gotten a answered phone call.

I've expressed my willingness to buy a new subscription, but I'd like to make that transaction with a human.

  18. Thanks Russ, ^^^ Good News indeed! I have a pretty good collection of TRJ. { The Best Rag Ever! } But I'm very old school, and have only picked them up at our old News stand with cash. My only subscriptions are gifts from my wife, and kids. lol I really believe that Steve has been doing his best. I'll be on the lookout for # 86 :)

Any idea if it will be available on the newstand or bookstore. I had a subscription for a long time but then was buying it locally. That all changed when the pandemic hit.

Good news, indeed. I'll be waiting for those HAMBers who were so quick to yell SCAM to come back and admit the man is doing his best, but I expect I'll be waiting a long time.

Wonder if anyone in Australia will be handling and distributing RJ ? Graffiti Publications used to stock it. Graffiti closed after Larry passed. RIP.

So painful dealing with TRJ. I got 85 in the mail. No way to know if I still have a subscription...assuming no at this point. I have emailed a couple times. No response. No working telephone number. No way to purchase or subscribe on the website.
Its pretty basic business. Tell me how and I will give you my money. "We are struggling to survive". Well, no kidding, you make it impossible to buy the product!

  25. Try this number. 443-448-4175. It’s in the latest mag. The new Denton, MD location number. Worth a shot I guess.

I showed my support when they were offering by buying the lifetime subscription.
if or when an issue arrives I'm sure I will enjoy it.
in the meantime life goes on.

  27. I am still waiting for my issue.

In another thread here on Rodders Journal https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/posts/15235942/ John's Rod and Custom in Melbourne say they are bringing some in for sale. As I understand it some the Aussie guys have already made contact with them. Maybe give them a call.

There was also some being handed out at P&J's open house to a few people?

I couldn’t get a response as to whether my subscription was still active or not, as I did receive 84 and 85. So I ordered one from Aerobooks/Autobooks on May 1. It took them a week to actually ship it, but it came today in a bubble wrapped, bullet proof FedEx box. So I’m covered either way.
It’s a GREAT issue! Well done, Steve, and thanks!
