Johnny Gee, I want to have my original trans mounts re- vulcanized, the mounting holes in the re- pops are drilled/punched incorrectly. Continentaljohn, thanx for the response. I thought I remember a shop out in California was doing that work at one time. Tom
Tom is that a new repop that was drilled wrong ? I’m curious as I have a couple of old ones and they fit nicely.
Continentaljohn, you're lucky, some of the re- pops are punched correctly and some of them aren't. I have two that have been punched incorrectly. I' m not able to take an image of them right now, but if I remember correctly two holes don't line up. This topic was discussed a short while ago on the HAMB. Do you remember which vendor that you purchased yours from? Tom
@continentaljohn , a heads up on where not to purchase or who makes nice ones . We need one soon. Thanks
I got one in 2017 from AJays here. Bolted straight in as I recall. Don’t know if he still stocks them.
I bought them awhile back but don’t use alot of aftermarket parts and when I do I would use **** Spadaro, joblot and the place in Minnesota. Unfortunately don’t believe any of them are open any longer. I did check the others I have and none of them have names stamped on them . It shocks me that they can’t locate the holes correctly
How far off are these holes? Can’t you just do a little filey-filey and away you go? The mounting bolts should hold it tight.
Alchemy, yes I could re- work the part and make it fit, but I like to use original parts if I can, or re-pop parts that don't require m***aging. This is going to be my last car project, and I want it to look like the image in my minds eye. If you know what I mean. Tom
I have purchased several re-vulcanized originals from All Ford Parts in Campbell. They have required a good core in the past.
Thanx to all that responded, as Neal stated above, All Ford Parts in Campbell CA. sells original '32 Ford transmission mounts that have been re- vulcanized. For anyone that is interested, they currently charge $50.00 plus an original core. Tom
