I found a old plaque from the rebels car club that belonged to my grandpa. Does anyone have any info on this club, he also had a roadrunners one . My grandma told me story's about my grandpa and his hot rods but she's not longer around so I can't ask her. Any help would be appreciated
I cant give you any history, but I think they're still active. Ive seen them running at Day of the Drags within a couple of years. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yeah I've seen the online videos on the rebels I am just trying here to see if anyone knew more than I found out already
RebelRat gave me the following info when he posted this photo on my car club plaque photos thread ..... The club has been reactivated about a year ago. It used to be called The Rebels Race Car Club. My good friend's grandfather and his buddies started the club back in the 50's but it had not been active for about 20 years or so. We contacted the last surviving member and asked him if we could restart the club. He gave us his blessing and also found an old plaque for us to copy but it had the Confederate flag as the background which we felt was not PC in this day and age so we used the TX flag instead and shortened the name. ATA stands for Alamo Timing ***ociation. They used to do time trials and drag race on runways at ***orted flight line's around San Antonio. You can read more and see pic's of original plaque and members cars at www.rebelscarclub.com (No longer works). Maybe RebelRat can give you more info.
My dad Larry C. was a founding member of "The Rebels" HR club and designed the original plate. He is 81... still alive and strong...driving etc. Another founding member Gary T. is also alive an kicking Both went to Brackenridge HS here in San Antonio.
@michael cannon has not posted here since 2017. @Joe Rosales , can you post the photos here, for future reference?
