Has a 409 that has been stepped on a little.

  2. I put a couple more hrs in on the valve cover, took it up to 1000 grit, lots of scratches still in it but the novelty of sanding is wearing thin on my back injury.

I gave it a round of polish anyway, when done these are going to look real good on my blower motor

  4. Nice Rocket! What mods were required on the chain? Can't see, but you didn't forget the chain oiler in the front oil galley or the hidden plug in the rear? Watch the 3 leg engine stand. They like to tip over quickly once the heads are on. No stopping them when they decide they want to lie on the floor:rolleyes:

  7. Awesome brother, does it have the parts you need for your truck?

  8. Nothing for mine. Lots of parts are the same but nothing front end related. I’m just a sucker!

Good score for a great price. Having "inventory " is planning for the future!

  12. ^^^^Now that is a no nonsense, bad ass 409. And yea, looks to be stepped on quite a bit.:);)

  13. Those Holleys are some serious pieces, along with the intake and heads under 'em!

I guess not. The hood is worth that isn't it?

Nice; real nice. I'll probably never own another car that fast but I'm hoping the Model A will be close. Well; maybe not close but at least getting up there.

Got a blank cam gear sent to me it was how did that happen thing, had to drill the three cam mount holes then ream the center hole. Yep I now about the stands on these motors. I first built the motor 20 ears ago and never ran it so I check the plugs again just in case.

I had the Studebaker out for a couple blasts down the highway, got it home and changed the oil and filter while things were nice and hot. IMG_1335.JPG

  17. @atch thrre is far more in Parts than what I paid for sure. It was someone’s project, has an LA motor in it with some interesting fabrication happening!

  20. IMG_7428.jpeg IMG_7429.jpeg Little Truckdoctor and I are working on the 12 volt conversion job on our 50. We got it running and Chandler got the headlights swapped out. We also got the alternator installed and wired up with a working indicator light. Next up, turn signal installation. I bought kits to make the front park lights into turn signals and I got 1157 bases to install into the original style taillights.

Those are clouds reflecting in the Ford Semi-gloss engine enamel. Didn't care if it was perfect anyway, as I'm going for an older look. You can't tell from looking at it, but there was quite a bit of work to go from oil bath to paper filter. I got 2 of these (early 50s Chevy truck?) for $20. Cut up the worst one first. Planning to take the Performer intake & Q-Jet off a 350 & install this on a 2Jet sitting on a cast iron manifold, along with some script valve covers. Will need to figure out a PCV though. Maybe drill into the intake.

One door almost back together. Working on drivers side next. IMG_20240416_230305966.jpg

  23. Between 4 doctors appointments over the last 2 days I was able to get the other valve cover polished, again not perfect, but good enough.
Probably keep on task and finish them up, ventilate for breathers, cut the oil drippers, touch up a couple spots, make gaskets for breathers.

If you have not done so, contact Newport Engineering for an electric wiper motor. You will not be sorry. Night and day difference.

That parts truck looks better then my 49 did when I started on it! And I paid almost 2 1/2 x what you paid for yours. I did get a title though.

  29. Paperwork is no problem here.
