Does anyone has a reliable recommendation for replacement Sheetmetal for 1930 Model A Pickup? Ive been experiencing many "out of stock" situations. Thank you in advance

You try the usual suspects? Snyder’s, Mac’s etc? I’ve had decent luck on the auction site too.

That's what Brookville Roadster started with.

I've got a 31' Tudor and been looking for rear wheel well patch panels for 3 months and had zero luck, just like you've found out of stock everywhere I've looked.

    ...good luck...

Read about Howell's BEFORE you order and send money. You could be out money and time. Order Howell's parts from an established dealer who has them in stock.

It's been many years since I've had a Model A, or used Howell's. I didn't know there were issues with them, that's unfortunate. I ordered panels from him over the phone 20 years ago and everything was great.

This is the best advice. Dave Howell told me that they make 100s of a part at a time for places like Snyders. If they are out of the part you want, it may be a while before they make your part. You can also order from ebay.

I get most of my Model A parts from Bratton's in MD. You are correct that many places are not stocking parts like they did at one time.

  12. Brookville Roadster is who I've used for all the sheetmetal on my roadster. Except for one piece they said they'd produce when they got around to it. Bought one from Howells on ebay; it was in stock and shipped promptly however the fit left a lot to be desired. I'd be wary of anything from Howells...

Howells has a bad reputation on this site. and since someone recommended them- i will add my 2 cents. They currently have $637 dollars of my hard earned money in exchange for nothing. I ordered everything I needed for my truck off their website, I was even called the next day and told they had everything except one U channel that goes under the bed at the tailgate because brookville isn't making them any more. Well.... that's the last I heard from them. Ive called over 30 times and emailed through their website-no return call or email. All I wanted was communication. if it was going to take a month... I didn't care. but to not answer the phone or respond to any of my messages? it just sucks really, why say you have everything and take my money, but never send anything?

Looks like Beaumont is just over an hour from Houston. Seems like a friendly HAMBer might go knock on the door for you?

I've bought sheet metal from Mac's, CW Moss, Brookville stuff off of eBay, etc. Some shows in stock and isn't, it's kind of a crap shoot once they have your money. I didn't like Mac's, I liked CW Moss though.

I ordered from Howells on Jan.16 and haven't seen my order yet either, calls and emails go unanswered and I spent almost $800 with them for my coupe sheet metal. I'm aware that I should have gone here for advise first but I guess lesson learned. I can't even leave a message anymore since its full. I needed the patch panel that goes above the trunk lid and they are the only ones who had it so I ordered everything from them.

Can you dispute the charge through your credit card? Generally you only have about 60 days.

Is there any better way to get ahold of this company than call or email? I'm sure its been asked on here before.
