Friend bought a supposedly complete McCullough Flathead blower. Can anyone E-Mail me some pictures of the complete setup mounted on an engine. gm03319@windstream.net. I need an e-mail as I can't move pictures off this forum. Thanks
You looking for the “pancake” version, originally designed for the flathead? Apparently they came a couple different ways. Sent pictures direct, also
Not pics, links. Hope they help. https://myflatheadford.com/mcculloch-supercharger-intake/ https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/early-mccolloch-supercharger-part-1/ https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/mcculloch-supercharger-for-flathead-ford.16210/ https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/vintage-mcculloch-flathead-supercharger.244319/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymjdID6RhjU
late 50’s early 60s style of a McCullough Flathead blower: Hello, Here is a modified photo from my files I use to draw a copy of a McCullough Centrifugal Supercharger. The set up is similar for most v8 motors. We saw the original McCullough/Paxton Supercharger on Jr. Thompson’s 41 Studebaker Sedan and of course on several stock cars, Studebaker Hawk and a black 57 Ford Sedan in our A/Stock racing cl*** at Lion’s Dragstrip. Jr. Thompson’s 41 Studebaker… original sound from 1959 at Lion’s Dragstrip Black 57 supercharged Ford sedan vs. a 58 Impala in A/Stock cl*** at Lion’s Dragstrip. Jnaki We always felt that this set up on an SBC motor would have been outstanding street/strip version for a daily driver and a compe***ive race car on the weekends. Whether it was in a small T-Bird, a larger Chevy sedan or a hot rod coupe. The sound it made on several cars that came through our drive-in restaurant parking lot was pretty impressive… It was a plan we thought would make the 327 powered 40 Ford Sedan Delivery have an “at***ude” toward more horsepower and still have some drivability for a couple of 20 somethings to use on our cruising modes. We had other plans for the sedan delivery, but who knows when an encounter would approach us? But, as it were, no one gave a sedan delivery back then, a second look, as it was a normal “delivery van” of sorts… Note: Find the photo you like, right click your mouse and copy the photo. Now find a Word Processor program, like Microsoft Word and paste it on the blank sheet. Then, you can adjust the size of the image to any size. Simple and if you want to save it… “save as a picture” with a simple right click on the mouse, again. You can post it to the HAMB pages, but, if the image is too large, go back to your Word Do***ent and resize the photo so it is not blurry or out of focus. Most folks find a photo, copy it and post, regardless of size or clarity. If you want a good photo, your computer photo program has simple “stuff” to allow you some fine tuning… No one likes a v8 motor to miss or stumble. Fine tuning makes it work well. So, in the same realm, a photo is not just copy and paste. Fine tuning always makes it somewhat clear and concise to a point. Then, you can copy and paste it to the size you want to show on the HAMB… YRMV
