this 40 is about 2 miles from my house. i knew it was there but couldnt seem to get my hands on it. today at 1:00 is an auction & it will be sold. worst part is its a 4 door & the garage was damp so it sure is RUSTY!
IM TO SLOW POSTING PICS. SHES A more door WITH CANCER! They pulled the rear frame OFF trying to pull it out. (OUCH!)
LMAO!!!! If you're unable to perform your duties as "Master of the Obvious" does the runner-up take your place?
i sent a dude over to buy it for me & it should be sold by now but i havent got a call yet!? it aint worth much. the dash is rusty, the garnish mldgs are real rusty, the doors are rusted shut, the frame is a throw away. i thought id pressure wash it up & spray tire shine on the tires & it would look like a jewel in the yard.
looks good to me. if the floors and frame are shot, there is $4,000.00 worth of ebay there. prolly more.
looks like i own the 40! we will pick it up yet this eve. - somebody broke the hood latch during the auction though. (BUMMMS ME OUT) freakin hood latch lasted since 1940. - oh well got the car cheap enough it'll make nice yard art once i wash it all up.
got her home after 2 hours of roooootin & diggin & messin up the dudes lawn! not a one of the wheels would turn. - nice spare in the trunk so we ended up with 5 good wheels & 5 nice hubcaps. sure is rusty. the gas tank fell out in a few different pieces. --- FUN TIMES diggin out early 'IRON' & draggin it home.
Alway's like hearing about 40 finds...I see your from Minnesota, where was the car located? Is it a complete old gennie, or has it been repainted? Looks like it lived in a barn, or ba*****t on a farm. How about more of the story!
Oh hell yeah, save it. Man it may look like a big project but in 50 years finding something in that condition would be pure gold. Even if its a 10 year project save the thing. Hell even if you sell parts to Rat Rodders, they like rusty ****. Do you have kids? Give it to your son for a father & son project. Just dont let it waste away.
Rochester is where the car was, sat right along hwy 14 in a shed, it sat since 1974. dosent look like a bolt has been removed anywhere, dosent look like its ever been painted either. its still on the trailer maybe someone needs it worse than we do?!
