one thing to remember too......there is a difference between a stock cut down respline and a regular moser aftermarket axle.....a respline will twist alot easier....alot just depends on application.....like the guy up there told me.....if it doesn't come with a moser sticker for the middle of the axle...its just a replacement...lol brandon

I am using moser axles in my mustang and have never had a problem. If the price is an issue you might look at getting your old ones resplined.

No price is not so much an issue as freight. I hate to throw good money away if I can get it done somewhere close. Moser is right up the road. I was just trying to see if anyone had an opinion as to Mosers products and services. The idea is to drop my rearend off there and have them shorten the tubes, make new axles, install new bearings and if possible set up the posi. I'd rather deal with someone close than someone half way across the country. On top of all that, I'm not building a drag car but a strong running weekender. In fact, I doubt if the factory axles would give me a problem if I were using them at the factory length. Since the splines are larger in diameter than the shafts themselves, I guess I have no choice than to have new ones made. I've heard tell that the oldtimers would bore hole the diameter of the shafts thru the flange end then reweld the flange and bearing boss back onto the shafts. I doubt that anyone would do that now. Besides, todays metalergy is far superior to what it was that it'd be a waste of good labor. Moser sounds like the choice to me and I thank all of you for your input. It would be safe to say that I'll be asking a lot of questions as time goes by. You can't buy advice like this anywhere in the world!

Good product. I ran a set in my 9" Ford big bearing rearend in my Monza. Strang also make a good product and I heard that are a little less money.

I doubt they will set up your posi. If not, then I'd suggest that you get that done first and then waltz in there with the set-up pumpkin and the housing so that they can get you the right length of axle.
