I just thought I would mention that my good friend Jerry Slattery who was an ***ociate Editor of Street Rodder Magazine for many years p***ed away April 12. He was 81 yrs old.I suspect that many of of you that subscribed and or bought the magazine when it existed read the many features and Tech articles that he wrote. Here is a pic of him with his 32 5W in around 1964.RIP my good friend !!
Sorry for your loss. I probably read most everything he wrote in Street Rodder and learned a lot from it. Always well written and pretty well researched.
Man o Man, it sure is tough loosing the folks you kind of grew up with! Farewell and Thanks for All the Great reading.

@Deuce Lover Hey Sheldon, Good to see you are still around, but a long distance away… We all knew Jerry and his skills as a one of the nicest guys with a camera walking around various car shows and club events during our “younger” days. He had the easy going temperament even though he was a part of the "compe***ion" as a photographer and journalist. When we saw each other from events in So Cal to Oakland in the S.F. Bay Area, it was like old home week. Camaraderie from a friend at various locations did well to boost the compe***ion, plus see and talk to a familiar face while enjoying hot rods and shows. We even saw each other in big events in small areas like Castro Valley, Modesto and a smaller area called Merced of all places. His demeanor was always even keeled and although we talked about the hot rods on display or rolling into the set up day mornings, it was all good. In later times, he knew I could present great photos and still be able to write a story or two to go along with the color slides and B/W prints. So, in the back of both of our minds, was a little compe***ion action building, but with a friendly smile and sharing information. Once we saw each other talking to a prospective builder or custom hot rod owner, then the job at hand went into overdrive. Jnaki All in all, he was one of the best guys to talk to with his easy going manner and when he was on one of the main magazine writers/photographers, it was impressive. All with a huge smile and easy going feeling. And, if I recall, a cool mustache that always went along with his happy smiling face… Thanks for all of your great friendship and advice, Jerry… great memories from those younger days… YRMV and thanks for a great reminder of "we used to actually be a lot younger..." HA! Take care of yourself...
I had met him when he would visit a mutual friend here in Snohomish , Gordon Simpson whom we lost last year. He seemed to be a very nice down to earth hot rodder. If I remember correctly, his 36 3 window was powered by a Paxton supercharged Chrysler engine. RIP Jerry
