I have hilborn efi stack injection on an expensive hemi and need to get better air filters than those little rubber screen foam deals Hilborn sold that are not up to task. Shortly before they sold out to Holley, Hilborn came out with these oval filters in the pic that looked promising but as we know Hilborn is gone, gone, gone. Anyone know where a source for those oval filter elements can be found (paging Andrew Starr-aka Hilborn's efi tech, great customer support) . I would need inside dimension 18 long, 3.5 wide. I've gone thru K & N custom dimension calculator but they have nothing. WIX as well. I can make tops and bases for my stacks.

K&N had a really neat (but large) box style filter for sprint cars, crazy $$$ though.

Also you could check the SpeedWay dirt track catalog offerings.

  9. Just curious,,,,,,why do you need a special air filter for your injection ?
Is your Hemi running in a dirty environment ?

I used the stock foam elements in my velocity stacks on a tunnel Ram for years,,,,,never had any engine wear .
Just lightly lube the foam before use and after cleaning .
But,,,,my engine was running on the street too,,,,,your mileage may vary .

thx for replies. The stock foam elements that Hilborn sold are so thin you can see thru them. they're like 3" x 1/8" thick sandwiched between 2 screens which are secured on the 8 individual stacks with rubber retainers. Yes I would just like to street drive it a bit.

True, but piston tops don't look good when a little rock is ingested!

    I use K&N filters for a Datsun. They are about 7.5 X 14 inches.
You can stack them depending on the area required.
You will probably have to fabricate the housing to fit the Mopar.

I was able to track down Hilborn's efi tech Andy Starr and he gave me some good tech recommendations for air cleaners.
