Had a real good time and saw more interesting items in the first 5 minutes than walking the whole grounds of the last 2 swap meets I went to.
Jim did good ... again For me - it was about Family The gates opened at 7:00 am Sanford & Son Tradition at 9:00 am Video pinned to the top here: @ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100005456325407&mibextid=kF**JD Jim
That car had a cast Aluminum tub/body........crazy. Hope this swap will pick up as there was quite a few empty spots.....but it was 99.99% car related. If more sellers come on board it could be one of the west coast best (at least in California). That said, it was totally worth the 6+ hour round trip.
I wasn’t really in the market for anything in particular so just bought small things, nothing real note worthy but was a great swap. The quality of stuff was really good, quite a few sellers but really spread out and a lot of vacant spots like there was high hopes for more. Hopefully next year more filled in. I think the makings for something great in upcoming years. The yellow A roadster pictured above is mine I drove out there to sell, I still have it if anyone is interested.
Famoso just renewed a 20 year lease. The empty spaces exist because the swap paved area is HUGE. My videos are long - several vendors were interviewed on Friday setup. I chose to record live, so I can't catalog the videos on YouTube because they are not on my phone. If someone knows how I can move them, please let me know Jim
Thanks for posting! We only dream about cool stuff here in 10-UH-C. Not much but late model and SBC. SIGH!
I forgot to mention the prewar section was really big, the most T stuff I've seen in one place (even more then the Long Beach Model T club swap). I did buy a Stewart Warner warning signal (manual horn), a Coats M-76 balancer, an old unused Boraxo soap dispenser and a 33-34 Ford gas pedal.......all for $80. My problem is I'm looking for weird small parts.
The roadster has a cowl from a coupe, the other gizmo is a bug deflector that clips onto your hood ornament. With a wind speed speedometer on it to boot.
Thank you all for attending the Famoso Drag Strip Swap-O-Rama & Pre-War Swap Meet, Special thanks to the Horseless Carriage Club, Blain Motorsports, Ragtime Racers and local Charter Oak Model A's for helping spread the word through club meetings, email and word of mouth. Also, so many more! We are planning on move-in Friday and Saturday May 3rd, 2025 (1st Saturday of May...) Had some Hot Rod & Custom Royalty in attendance too (Jim "Jake" Jacobs, Robert & Suzanne Williams, Pete Eastwood, Keith Dean, Squeak Bell and more! Also, thanks to Wally, Roman and the Boys from Porterville! (see pic below). We plan on improving on everything, and if you didn't make it out this time, we hope to see you in Spring of 2025! I appreciate all the support! Jim "aka' Sanford & Son
I went and sold some stuff. Did not get rich but did not loose money. We needed more buyers... Everything I sold was to other vendors. I hope it turns into something bigger. I'm sure the Barona drags, Turlock, Sacrament Autorama and the Monterey car show being on the same weekend hurt it also....
