Technical working windshield wipers yes or no

How many have working wipers.
No wipers

Truck has no working wiper. nova has working wipers along with the 54.
I have used rain x in the past.

 

In Seattle we use rain x and working wipers. Frequently.

 

My wipers work on everything at this point.
A couple decades ago I went a two years with no wipers on my daily driver and got by just fine with RainX. In fact, it worked so well I didn’t even need wipers at all, even in a downpour. Any mud or heavy dirt added to the equation changes things though.

 

Everything I own has working wipers.

Rain X,an the stock armstrong wipper for 1928A Roadster ,I do try to stay out of rain,but it happens,so ya,those work. Extra note;the 4 carb scoops,in sunny days face front,but here in rain,I turn them to rear,as in pic.

 

Getting caught in gully washer rain storms or having a puddle splashed up on the windshield by a passing rig isn't fun if you don't have working wipers. Many of my jaunts to rod trots are 100+ miles and it's 170 to get down in Billy's hood trough the Columbia Gorge that you can't always be right on weather reports and it rains like a cow pissing on a flat rock in that area all too often while the sun is shining on my end and on his end. The fools who don't run wipers best carry rain-X by the gallon.

 

all my old cars were mostly stock and had wipers. worst one was my 49 chevy sedan with factory vacuum wipers..they were pretty weak and stopped when you accelerated.

 

If I lived in SoCal or AZ I may not build wipers into everything but this is the PNW. More wet days than dry. And I have been drowned on that trip up to tri cities. Like you said, sunny here, sunny there...40 days and 40 nights worth of rain in-between.

All depends on where you live. My wipers get used so infrequently that the rubber gets stuck fast to the glass, and the first time they are turned on they tear a strip off. If I lived somewhere where it rains for more than about 20 days a year, I would probably keep them working.

 

I guess it depends if you plan to drive in the rain... minus morning dew?

I have always had working wipers on all my cars. To me they are on my list of safety features that I feel comfortable with.

 

Working wipers, and Rain-X washer fluid.

 

Mostly they all get working, except a few that have vacuum, and never seem to quite be able to work.

 

I use a hand wiper on my model A RPU. It looks to be a stainless version of a 40s jeep system

 

Working wipers on everything I have ever built. Required by law in every state, why would you not have them?

 

My 39 has a single drivers side wiper and the 36 will get a tandem arm setup.

 

Working wipers on all. Even converted my vacuum wiper car to electric.

 

All my current vehicles have working wipers. Well, the 48 Ford has vacuum wipers so that isn't really "working" so Rain x comes in handy, I even put it on my newer ponycar.

 

I have what I believe to be factory-stock wipers on my 1950 Advance Design Chevy truck....... so yeah, they are the tiny, old-school style. I suspect that they don't have much pressure against the glass surface. though.
But the truck is a fair-weather cruiser and the wipers have never been operated in the wet, by me anyway. I'm not sure if they could flick a ladybug off the windshield.

 

I built a clamp on electric wiper for my A. I doubt I will ever use it but if I had a safety inspection of any sort at least I have it.

 

Working electric wipers on everything. The windshield wiper washers may be next. Its amazing how often I miss those washers.

Newport Engineering probably has a working electric system of your ride. Not cheap, but they work. You might think they are expensive, until you find out how much time you have invested in making something sort of work or how much money you have given the makers of Rain X

 

On my car it will work, but I’m not sure how well….probably there just for looks

 

Since I put electric wipers in my car, I have run them for only about 20 minutes. I like rain x better, but the wiper are for back up if I need them.

 

Working wipers in the 51. Caught in an atmospheric river storm a couple years ago about 250 miles from home, and really needed them. New Port is a good product. I have working wiper in the cabriolet, but usually keep the arm and blade in the trunk, and have never needed them.

 

After I get that far along in the build the 53 will have working wipers. As will the 54. Rain tends to be too dirty for my liking anymore to rely on rainx

 

No wipers but since I run slicks on the back it's not going out in the rain anyway.
