Wow!!! I can't believe this thread popped up! My pal, Jay, (NoSurf), sent me a link the other day and I saw where someone had posted on it! I'm still around but like most of us, busy as hell with life and a billion projects! I do miss the Dust Bowl Spl. and the Torr-Nado T. They both were sold years ago to fund another project and ended up with some fellas in Spain. They both look different now and have had a lot of work done to them. I've kicked around the idea of building a Dust Bowl Spl. II.
I really appreciate all of the kind words on this thread and the interest that folks took in this little, clapped out roadster. It sure wasn't fancy and my fab skills are no better now but it was the right medicine at the right time for my kids and me. I miss the car, those days and the HAMB!

  4. Thanks Jason, it would cool to follow along on a version II if you do go that way. The first version was a great tonic while i was building my T RPU. JW

    Tim,
Here they are now. The Torr-Nado T was sold to a Gentleman in Spain who has a Hot Rod shop there and sells classic cars. During that transaction, he mentioned that he had a buddy that was looking for a T roadster and he ended up with the Dust Bowl. Both went together to Spain and are still together. Like I said, they look a bit different than when they were mine but they have done a lot of work to them and seem to really enjoy them. Occasionally, I'll see them pop up on different websites and they run them at the beach races in Wales a lot and other, Hot Rod events. I have to admit..I miss them both as do my kids! But...we've have other cars and projects and that's the way it goes and I'm glad they are being enjoyed and cared for.

    JW,
Thank you for the kind words and I appreciate you always being a fan of the Dust Bowl!
Man...after this little blast from the past, I'm really wanting to build a Dust Bowl Spl. II! I have to admit though, the new one might have a V8 and not the banger.....But, that was kind of a big part of that little car's vibe so we'll see!

Man they do look different! But now I can keep a look out for them :) a friends roadster went to Europe as well and it’s cool to catch it in photos on the beach too!
