Once in a life time Barn Find that found me last summer.
Ryan and fellow Mods knew last year and now since we can post some off topic,, now you fellas will know.
It is a really neat story so enjoy the pics.
I've owned my shop for 5 years and this was sitting in storage for over 20 years less than 100 feet from my shop.
    No really !
A 5 Bay storage building is less than 100 feet from my shop.
I didn't know until last summer and it was by chance only helping a lady put boxes in her bay 5 storage.
Covered up, stuff piled everywhere so not 100% sure under the cover.
Had to move a bunch of stuff on it, around it outside to climb under / over/ everywhere.
Flat tires, dead battery, last ran/ registered over 20 years ago.
I did turn the belt/ pulley so it wasn’t locked up.
They owned it for over 30 years.
68 Vette Convertible, 4 Speed. Not original motor (327 with we believe a 283 crank / rods / solid cam/ lift roller motor.
    So 301..... Runs/ sounds great.
It took some reconditioning with new Gas Tank, Complete Brakes - Master Cylinder, U- Joints, Carb Kit, Fuel Pump, Radiator, belts, hoses, plugs / wires etc.
    Super nice motor.

More pics below when I uncovered it and moved it to my shop.
Had to fill the tires and needed a bunch of cleaning.
Spent 2 weeks in the Corvette Shop reconditioning with all that was needed as I don’t have a lift in my shop ( yet) and frankly I wanted to get it done before Labor Day last year to go cruising.

I love the early C3 bumper Vettes and that car was a hell of a find!! My high school sweetheart’s mom had a ‘69 big block 4 speed car and she let me drive it a few times whenever she needed my El Camino (‘66 big block) to go get things for the garden or the house. That was a fun car to drive!!

How many miles are on it? Judging from what I can tell not much at all

I think many of us would be shocked at what’s sitting behind garage doors that are seldom opened. I always have my eyes peeled for stuff like this, you just never know.

  8. Owned a couple of C3 Corvettes early on. This is killer. No white tennis shoes or gold chains required.

Really cool! My dad had a 68 in high school. Bought it from Bill Moyer in DSM. Bill had used it as a buck to make fibergl*** bodies for his racecar.

Very nice. Neat story as to how you “lucked” onto it. To me, those bumpered cars were the last of the real Corvettes. Glad it found you.

very nice 68, someone also swapped in later C3 seats at some point looks like. I like the 68 for all the one year quirks that sets them apart from even the other early C3's

My grandpa and I just picked up a project 69 Vette roadster. Original 427 car, seeing yours make me excited to start wrenching on it.

So, how many miles on the clock? Options? Wipers work? Headlights pop up? Tell us about it.

Miles ....don't remember exactly. I'll look.
It's been painted probably 30 plus years ago.
Supposedly came from California 35-40 years ago.
No options..... wipers and headlights pop up and work.
I need to replace the windshield is about it. ( lower corner crack)

Damn it, Cob! If you were to fall headfirst into an outhouse, I'd bet you'd still come out smelling like roses. Nice score:)
