I would hope so, they were off topic.

If you want to post pics of that sort of stuff, Ryan created a whole new sub-forum to post it in

The off topic thread is still on the main forum, I'd think they want you to post it in the new sub forum.

This isn't a thread to post your off topic material, it's a thread to announce a new sub forum to post off topic material.
Reading for comprehension isn't a strong suit around here

I thought it actually was the start of the new forum that I was posting it in..........Guess it was easier to just delete it instead of moving it.........which I thought was one of the ideas behind having the new sub-forum........so mistakes could be moved instead of deleted. Guess I was wrong on both counts.:)

Moving a thread makes more sense than moving a single post. who's thread would you have thought we could have moved a single picture or post to? as was earlier stated this thread that Ryan started to announce the new off topic forum is on the main board. He posted a link to the new forum back in his first post

What confused me was that I went to the Jalopy Journal where there was a picture of a Mercedes and the Off Topic posting. At the bottom it said "147 comments" on the Hamb which I took to mean this was the forum. Next to it, it said "Welcome to the fray" which I didn't realize was the actual thread entrance. Now I see that going to the Hamb Journal and scrolling down a little further than normal, there is now an "Off Topic" choice. Long way around, but I got there. I think I'm gonna like the new sub-forum now that I see the light............

I know its the "off topic" area, but I still find it hard to believe Moriarity is posting off topic pictures!

Its also pretty interesting that so many that are embracing the new section want to put limitations on it for things they dislike. Do they think they have to read every post there?
I have a hint for them too, SKIP OVER THE THREADS YOU DON'T LIKE!

    Finally, Thank You Ryan!

Please keep in mind that us greybeards don't pick up on things (anything) quickly like we once did, especially when dealing with the digital world, remember what Joe Walsh said.............
It took me a bit to get the hang of it, a little delete and a move fixed it, take it from me, this new category is what many of us have wanted for a long time, as many of you can tell, I sure have made use of it, love it, @Ryan made a great decision on how to make this happen and still keep us all one big happy family.
And just like any family, not everyone is welcome in every room of the house!

So far I am liking the new forum. I don't have anything to post on it, but it's an interesting read.

Now that being said the LS has got to be one of the ugliest engines ever made so to those of you that are building the engine for a fast car keep the hood shut.

    I'm enjoying the new sub-forum.

The stuff I find myself wanting to post there seems to be about halfway between totally HAMB-friendly and totally OT. Could that suggest some kind of rule or definition?

"I know its the "off topic" area, but I still find it hard to believe Moriarity is posting off topic pictures!"

We all know Mark is a die hard custom dude but he is a car dude and most of you guys didn't know
the he has ( newer than 65 ) off topic cars, like I do, that you fellas now are finding out.
Car's run in our blood just like all of us.
Don't kid yourself though, I wasn't kidding when I said Mark hit his head in July 1964.
Custom cars are welded in his head :) and you won't find a more encyclopedia of Custom Cars than Mark.
Like Ryan, with a passion of Traditional Hot Rods and Customs, Mark fine tunes the passion with Custom Cars.
Me, I like them all which means my passion/ tastes change from time to time from Hot Rod to Custom and vise versa Custom to Hot Rod and lucky / fortunate enough to having both at the same time. I also have some muscle cars too. Hot Rods and Customs foremost.
I just can't have them all, so I play with a few at a time ( ok - more ) until another comes along that keeps the old Hot Rod / Custom Cars passion going.
"Got it made " is right. @Moriarity

We aren't driving on the HAMB, we are all riding.
Now there is an additional lane to ride in, so enjoy the ride.

About his post HAMB cars, I figured it's like congress critter's saying about porn; I know it when I see it.
He's owned and crawled around later model stuff so he knows it when he sees it!

You are definitely right about that. The only way to make an LS look good is by covering it up, and just keeping the hood shut.

It’s about time good move. The so called traditional is in one’s mind and not always correct.

  24. Any chance we can get a "Lounge". A place for support and free talk (still no politics). Lots of guys are dealing with issues all alone and need a place to talk things out with others. It does not have to be all sad and gloomy either. What kind of bourbon, cigar or a recipe for fajitas are you enjoying is just as important as someone to talk to during a divorce or the loss of a loved one.

I don’t know Mark that well, but we’ve had a few conversations lately and I can also tell you, he’s the real deal. His choice in vehicles is as varied as his automotive collection, but he bleeds customs as his favorites. I knew about the Chevelle since he had mentioned it before, but that S10 floored me. I doubt I’ll ever get the chance but I’d love to spend a day with him and tour his place. He’s probably forgotten more about hot rods and customs than I ever knew!

Cobbs right, Ryan has opened this up, and I believe it’s been well accepted judging by the number of posts. Makes my little board look like a knitting society, LOL, but thats OK! I’m not in it for the numbers, just a few good like minded friends. Respect this for what it is, and maybe we can keep it.

I believe this is a great outlet for guys like myself that were teenagers in the 70s and grew up in the hot rod world. I still don't want to see stupid ass wheels and LS engines but I can ignore that easily enough I suppose. I have several Hot rods The oldest being a 29 Highboy that is built in early 60s style. But I would say my true passion is hot rods -race cars - muscle cars built in the 1955 to 1972 era. I for one am happy that Ryan opened this outlet as it gives me an opportunity to further talk about my passion and share it with others .
