A-fucking-men!! I hate those wheels! I've counted over a thousand sets of those wheels at Bowling Green before

  2. No idea why so many people put those damn things on their cars, they're f'n everywhere though.

  3. I pulled the spacers and put a thick steel core cork gasket on, I did order another 3/16's thick cork gasket and will glue them on top of the others, not trimming those drippers just yet lol

Touched up the paint on the lower fenders I trimmed on the henry J and have them bolted in place permanently, the to do list is short now.

Well this has been an education. At least knowing what I know now the next one should be a breeze.

Checked the valve to piston clearance last week called Tony with the specs not going to work the pistons need to be notched. I didn't want to notch the Egge pistons so I'm ordering forged from Tony and having him notch them
So out came the pistons for the third and hopefully last time. This is on my 303 rocket. 20240504_093417.jpg 20240504_093437.jpg

  7. A year ago almost to the day I quit working on this mph scoop, it was a bad casting that someone filled with bondo.

I milled it out with a hole saw in my drill press and then jumped to the same process on those valve covers that I recently finished after sitting a year. Do you detect a theme here ???

I started whittling away at it with hand tools today, it's beginning to look like something on the one side.

  8. Curious what lift you have in your cam that you have clearance issues? Just went thru this with Tony myself but i was OK with my flat top pistons and his cam in my 324.

Gene, as you well know that's some of the hardest work you'll ever do. Glad you got it done.

Well 80 mile round trip and 55 bucks I got new seals for the rams for my lift. Man this piston seal is made of hard rubber of sort. Had to put it in some boiling water to get any stretch to install it. Was like stretching a nat's ass over a hoe handle. 20240506_171541.jpg

  12. Finished the other side, I'll bead blast the spots I "milled" out and polish the rest, it's not perfect but much better than it was.

The journey continues. It has been several decades since I have built a Dana so the going is slow. I am using a case spreader so that makes things a little easier and right now the carrier is empty so that helps a lot also. IMG_1371.JPG IMG_1370.JPG IMG_1372.JPG

  15. went to the local yard and was surprised to find a 78 CJ that had the T150 shifter I need for my top loader. Took me about 40 minutes to get it removed from the jeep. The best part is that they only wanted $20 bucks for it. I smiled all the way home:)

Nice modification on the scoop....never would have thought about a hole saw to mill aluminum....

I think I would try using a Rotabroach instead of a hole saw, probably give a better finish to work with and they aren't that expensive.

  21. I think it does a pretty fair job, especially in this old ass Craftsman drill press, I kinda enjoy figuring out how to make whatever I have on hand work, I'm not a professional here.

It was just a suggestion to make it easier and work better by giving a smoother finish that woudn't require so much sanding time.
