I think this is a good idea when you don't have a brake drum puller

A hub puller can apply tons of load if require to pull off a taper axle. A scissor jack only a fraction of that.

  3. That looks like a good way to get hurt.

  4. x2 on Truckdoctor Andy said. Renting the right tool will save you time, aggravation, and possibly worse. Buying a tool you will rarely use is still probably cheaper than the co-pay at the ER if you get hurt trying to do it without the right tool.

Looks like something from one of those "Indonesian Auto Repair" videos on "YouTube".

  7. Looks like a clever way to solve a problem if you don’t have the “proper” tool

That's not a hub puller, they are trying to pull the drum off the axle but how the hell did they get those bolts hooked to the drum? Or are the screwed into the axle flange? By the size of the bolt I think they took the screws that hold the drum on the axle out and have those bolts screwed in the same holes.

  9. Looks like you need more than two hands to make it work. Probably just fall over with a bit of tension.
