I had some pics of this on the main board, but it was a little to off topic, so it was pulled. Anyway, here it is. 1954 healey 100/4. All c4 zr1 suspension and a dz 302 with a 4 speed.
DZ302! Nice. Looks like a fun driver for sure I have an old AH that I plan to drop in a 283 with 3speed OD
Thanks for the compliments. The car has a great history. It was first v8 swapped in 1963, where it received a 260 inch ford . After being drag raced that way for a few years it was wrecked in the frontend and st aside for 25 years. I almost got to buy it 15 years ago, but it was not to be. The guy that bought it gathered parts and sold it to a road race guy that started building the chromoly chassis with a wrecked 90s zr1 vette. He lost interest and sold it back to the guy I had tried to get it from initially. This guy bought it just soI could have another shot at it. He had me spray a 32 ford for him and gave me the car as payment. I swapped it from ford to chevy, narrowed the chassis to fit my spoke wheels and straightened it out. Future plans are for black and white paint with a red i terior, but for now it runs and drives in raw metal and thats good enough for me.
Yes!! I was hoping this car would show back up now that we have this forum. Like Ryan, I think this car is cool as shit.
Now we’re talkin’! I’ve been nuts for this car since the teaser shot in your build thread. I had a stock 64 AH 3000 and it killed me to have to get rid of it. Keep any updates coming!
Wheels were custom made by dayton. 17x8 rear and 17x6 fronts. Both with zero or close to it, offset. I had them, and built the car to fit.
I have hundreds of build pics. Here are a few after another trip around the car to bring the metal work to the next level. Also a pic of the cool front ditributor drive for the small block chevy.
Oh this is one sweet car!! I absolutely love the chassis shot and the distributor up front is killer, I’ve never seen one before. Sign me up as subscribed for this build
Its way fast. I had it all together in the patina phaze. I was driving it to work, layed into it hard and broke the stock axle shafts. Its all good now, should have it back on the road in a week or so.
I have a Dana 60 IRS out of a 90 Corvette in my 67 Nova, narrowed the half shafts six inches/side, everything had been removed from the rearend except the batwing and center section, had to pull two half shafts out of a pile, at the time I didn't know the wall thickness of the Dana 60 halfshafts were thicker compared to the Dana 35. When I narrowed them I discovered one was a thinner wall tube, it required a little creativity in fitting the yokes due to the way GM built them.
Not trying to steal this thread but I also have never been able to post my OT car one which I think of as a hot rod. A 60’s Lotus 7 clone powered by a Chevy 3.4 Liter (207CI) 60 degree V-6 and five speed manual. Pretty quick and fun to drive! Hope this opens the door for others to post hot rod sports cars.
I had a ‘54 100/4 with a real LT-1 350 and a 4 spd in it with the stock chassis and wire wheels. It was easily in the top five of my favorite cars to cruise in. Great memories of my GF and I sitting in it eating Baskin and Robbin’s ice cream and watching the sunset in Manhattan Beach.
