I'd like to start this one up. I dig HAMB era buckets, but like the ones that came later too. I dig lots of chrome, Jag rears, wider rears, and 4 bar fronts. Sure, when boundaries are pushed, some go over the line of taste and appeal, but that's how you know to pull back a bit and keep it real. I'm sure there will be more opinions than posters, and some disagreement on where each person's line in the sand is and that's hopefully a good thing. We've been pretty civil in the main forums, let's keep that mindset here.
my brothers 23 T (Glass) in 1969 running a 60 Lincoln 430 and drag slicks from a well known racer from the twin cities. painted red with a black top.
Great idea for a thread. Caught this beast idling through the MSRA's Back to the Fifties Weekend a few years ago; not your normal style but I guess you could call it a "T-bucket".... ? Whatever you call it, I sure dig it.
There's a thread here on this street digger (I can't remember whose it was) but here's a shot of it at a gas station, and a couple of my shots of it at the '79 NSRA Nats.
May, 1980 - KC Hemi Owners club meeting (I was half-owner of a '70 'Cuda with a '69 Hemi from a wrecked RR). This T showed up and did some totally-wrong-for-the-neighborhood burnouts...
Here's a link to 1970 Oakland show pics. It's too new for HAMB, but it's okay here. https://customrodder.forumactif.org/t6353-oakland-roadster-show-1970-ron-brooks-pics There are other shows at this site, too. Get your show freak on! There were a couple later style T Buckets for sale I was keeping an eye on, but both are gone now that the weather has gotten better. This link was in one post I made.
Don't miss https://www.tbucketplans.com/ They have a lot of great info, including a breakdown of posts in separate headings for each decade from T-Buckets of the 1940s thru T-Buckets of the 2000s. For history of Leg Show which has been polarizing since it's debut https://www.tbucketplans.com/leg-show-t-bucket/ and https://www.tbucketplans.com/1971-street-rod-nationals-leg-show-t-bucket/
Here's my mom and dad in the mid 70's. Dad said that if he stood on it at 45 mph he could see daylight under the front wheels. He tore it down and sold the drivetrain so he could install a 255 DOHC Ford indy motor he bought from AJ Foyt's shop in 77. It stayed as a roller project from around 77 until he finally sold it in the early 2000s. He kept the Ford engine but when he died in 06 it got sold off. He stored it in our basement when I was a kid.
Not loving all the details, but a Jag V12 and IRS in a bucket. https://smclassiccars.com/jaguar/382871-1923-jaguar-v12-t-bucket.html
Speedway bucket kit build 14 parts so far. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfhIhztxW10 I will say that he made good progress, but he needs to read and understand before diving in. So many issues would have been avoided. Not how I'd finish one, but he's got one and I don't so I have no say.
This one was for sale cheap in state. Sold quickly. Different, but had some nice features. Would I use that front? No, but it could be changed.
