If it’s got working wipers it keeps em. If it don’t it gets Rain-X.

No choice here in Austria, non-functioning or missing wipers on a car made in 1964 means an instant inspection fail. Washers and demisting fan must also work if the car was fitted with them originally... TBH, I agree with that rule because although I try not to drive the car on rainy days, you can't avoid those 100% and that's when wipers come handy, weirdly enough ;)

Working wipers,I’ve been caught in a few storms where Rain X couldn’t keep up especially on the interstate with trucks whizzing by.

Some of yall must live where the temps never change. Lots of times here , especially at night or early morning, you’ll drive through a cool spot and faster than you can say wipers all the glass will be covered in moisture. Not fun, especially if you happen to be meeting a vehicle with its lights on. Same thing as running into a dense fog bank—-instantly no vision. Wipers clear out a spot with just a swipe or two. I’ve used Rainx on some vehicles before, it works ok with larger drops, but doesn’t do much in a tight mist nor on a vehicle with a flat windshield. It always worked better for me if the glass was angled or curved on the side. Wipers were one of the last things I put on my car, but that was partly due to having problems finding arms that fit at a decent price. Ford stuff was priced reasonable, Lincoln stuff, folks wanted a gold mine. I lucked up and found a NIB Newport 12volt motor kit for 1/2 price, but the arms and blades cost me as much as the motor!

I have a single wiper. It is really short and I sourced a delay from the web for it and a washer nozzle too. Probably overkill for how much I drive.

You only need wipers if you want to get the vehicle inspected

The 38 has stock vacuum wipers, they work "good enough" for me. It was a daily driver for awhile, in all Iowa seasons, adequate but not great. The Stude had two speed wipers, and the roadster's wiper is in a box on the shelf:)

  10. Raingear Wiper System installed January with delay…
