This is amazing. Larry was my uncle. My love of cars is because of him. I was 16 when he passed. I spent atleast a month out of each summer from the time I was 8 until he died, with him and aunt Peggy. Reading what y'all have to say makes me proud. It's awesome to see pictures of his Vicky from when he was racing and what it is now. I would like to have contact with the guy that has the car now.

I knew that he was in the race world, but honestly until reading this I had no idea how big he was. Terri, the black corvette was an '64. He begun to "restore" that car before him and Peggy moved to red banks MS.

Thank you for writing such a honorable testament about my Father. I have most of the family photos. When I have time I will see what I can find on the Lou Price 61 Vette. I know he crashed it at the Gator nationals around 1975 and I believe there is a pile of photos somewhere.

    Hi,

I was always told the Wind Jammer.... The Vette was a 1963. He purchased it in the early 70's. It is too bad you as well as Peggy and Lynn were not part of his racing days. I have e great memories spending a large portion of my upbringing at the shop or at the strip. My Dad started rebuilding the Vette and converting it to an Automatic prior to his move to MS. Due to his clutch leg having the knee replaced. I will see if I can find detailed the old pictures and post when time allows.

Tracy any pictures or information on the car would be greatly appreciated. As per Terri I contacted the Meadows family on two occasions and I received one response but it was that the family knew nothing of the car etc. It may be that they do not want to be bothered.

I had heard Lou Price crashed it at the Gator Nationals and the car has not been repaired but now it sports a cheap front fiberglass clip on the car. I have one picture that appears to be when the car was being built but other than that nothing. Would really appreciate anything that helps me with the car. The car does deserve a better fate than at present. I have had a few people want to buy the car but the one of the buyers wants to street rod it, another wants to make a roadster out of it and another wants to change it into a new build vintage drag car.

Some pictures may help show that it was a drag car that deserves to be saved pretty much as it was built by your Father. Thanks.

tracy, some pictures would be awesome. we also thought it was a 63, however. when we were getting the car ready to be sold. I took my high school automotive teacher to red banks to get the car running and driving. He was an old school chevy expert, and he pointed out a few things that made it a 64. I wish I had some pictures of the car, but at 17 that wasn't things i was thinking of at that time. I will never forget the sounds of that massive big block chevy that was in that car the first time i was with uncle larry and he got it running after the move, even before he had put the body back onto it.

A sad update to the 61 I referred to above. I sold the car a few years ago to a guy that really wanted it (had contacted me before I decided to sell it). I felt with my other projects I would never get around to it so decided to let another guy do something with it. Shortly after he bought it, he decided to sell it and the next owners parted it out and the car will more than likely live on as a restomod since it had a title. When I was selling the car I had two guys contact me wanting to just buy the title (one offered me $5000 and the other $6500 and when I told him no he wanted to know what I would take for the title alone). A friend of mine in Pennsylvania notified me a year of so ago that he bought most of the parts and those parts may be used in other projects or will probably be wall hangers.
