Thanks for sharing this. I really like seeing lead work, and the belly pan is a great idea.

Great detail & finishing, you make it look easy.
I have a question, when doing your lead work, how do you neutralize the acid in the tinning butter & flux? I just have a hell'uva rustball to deal with the day after doing lead and avoid doing lead for that reason.
I use Johnsons' tinning butter and liquid flux.
    Thanks, Oj

It’s been a busy weekend. Finishing up the metalwork on the body . Sandblasting a priming . Also a very small portion of chrome parts a piece started showing up from Jon Wright Custom chrome plating . An if your wondering I’ve sent out almost 150 pieces to get chromed including the firewall .

I posted the question on AllMetalShaping and they reminded me to wash with baking soda (I knew and forgot that) and after filing they say to hit it with ospho. I haven't tried the ospho step as yet. How much do you mix the liquid flux with? I tried it straight up the first time I used it and my whole shop was a horror the next day! Since then its been 50-50ish and it still affects stuff quite a ways away.
They also said not to use aluminum oxide sand paper on the lead, you'll have a reaction that shows up after paint. I expect you just use a file.

  14. Cody, how does the inflatable spray booth work out for the bodywork ? Are you wearing a mask while in there sanding ?

Nothing against 'injected Olds' but this thing has already pegged the cool meter!

With the binks #7. It’s bluer a the metallic stands up way more .

The iwata makes it more silver looking a the metallics lay down . Which I don’t want.

binks #7 for the win .
