    This is a true story......

    Them! History:

Them! was founded in 1954 in a joint action by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the Special Committee for Technological Advancement (SCTA). Both the CIA and the SCTA saw a pressing need to keep a close eye on the technological advancements of our cold war counterpart, the Soviet Union. In particular, during the early fifties both the CIA and the SCTA identified the growing Soviet hotrod scene as a potential and very real threat to national security. To this end the National Hotrod Righteousness Authority (NHRA), conceived and implemented an operation codenamed "Ant-Under" to counter this new and insidious threat.

Ant-Under's mission is to place loyal greaser operatives behind the Cast-Iron Curtain charged with monitoring and interdicting Soviet hotrod activity and if possible, to effect capture and/or conversion of Soviet greaser operatives. From their underground (literally) garage/lairs agents of operation Ant-Under work untiringly to keep freedom safe from petty tyranny and bad chop jobs.

The current roster of agents includes ex-members of the French Foreign Legion, the NSA, the CIA, the ATF, the Secret Service, the Irish Mafia, NASA, the Holy Order of Freemasons, the Coca-Cola Corporation executive staff, the EPA, the American Republican Party, the Knights Templar, and Milton Bradly. Ant-Under has seen continuous duty since the fifties and is active even today from Eastern Europe to Japan and as far south as Burma and Fiji.

The group took their name from the Russian word "Temmh!" which they heard often called out to them on the Russian streets. "Temmh!" has no real English equivalent but roughly translates, "That is one bad*** ride!"

The above account has been collected from various Division Commanders deep within the CIA. FBI agent Bob Graham's top secret dossier, now made public by the freedom of records act, confirms this history, but neither confirms nor denies any involvement in actual espionage export dealings with Soviet So******ts. Most of the early communications were made on "duty free" toilet paper, and were lost when washed over board in the Mediterranean Basin.

I am not at liberty to say any more....

The Texas command center is fully operational.

Ant-Under is still around to protect the un-enlightned non hot rod community.

I'm building a car out of plaques...hmmm, better not say that too loud or someone might really do it. The Vintage Trad Plaque Rod (would that be a hot rod or a dentist tool?)

Those are for everyone, but now that I think about it a 32 roadster, 32 cabro, a 29 AV8 roadster, a 31 roadster with a early hemi, another shoebox ford....dang, I think I could do it [IMG]

Nah, better not...I could never keep that many clean [IMG]

You'd have to start buying wax at Sam's in 5-gal buckets.
