I have an early 283 with the draft tube opening in the block. I want to cap off this opening ( have a vented oil fill tube). What have you used to block this opening? I do not have the fitting shown in photo. Photo was found on line. Thanks.

If you cap it off, how are you going to vent your crankcase? Are you installing a PCV?

I just bought one of the fittings that covers the hole and has a 1/2" hose barb, to connect to the old screw in type PCV valve. It seems to work.

You could also just put a freeze plug in the hole in the block, and get valve covers with holes for breather/pcv

    Define “cap” the hole.
