    Hello,

Cruising around to make a cloudy day into a nice day was finding this cool Suburban sitting on the side of the road. It had unusual plates that looked like a commercial designation. But, the build itself was one of those spot from a block away photo opportunities. A slow drive by with the digital camera does the job and the old Suburban was/is quite nice.

Since the old photo, we have never seen it again in the general area. But the time we did see it, it looked as if it had new American Racing Equipment 5 spoke wheels instead of the chrome ones. It did look nicer than before. So, it is still a mystery as to not being in the coastal So Cal area for cruising around, these days.

The paint was pretty nice and made the old suburban stand out from a long ways away. A nice build and for the coastal beach forays, plenty of space for the family and beach gear. YRMV

Picked up the lenses at a swap meet and adapted them to fit '50 Pontiac chrome rings.

Does anybody know what this lght is off of? It was originaly some kind of warning light as it had a bracket to hold some kind of small sign. I bought it off of a guy at a flee market and he thought it was off of an early American ambulance or fire engine! I sealed off what would have been a white down light for the sign and the red glass ive twsted down and now it is a 3rd brake light on my 32 model B pickup..

View attachment 5913148 [/QUOTE] Hey Joe Blow, Well the glass bowl looks simular but why would there be a scaled down type of licence plate holder! But then some boats must have registration plates as i have one in my collection of licence plates so you are most probably correct! Thank you for your help..:D

2” sectioned stem, holder of taillights pulls lights_ closer to body, for a less gangly look and for a cleaner look with ‘34 PU lights. Plate holders also angled away from fender, close to trunk lid angle. …all minor mods to make for a cleaner look.

    Hello,

This 1939 Chevy panel truck was stopped one day, parked on the side of the curb. It had the look of a cool hot rod. The about a month or so later, it returned to almost the same spot with some newer looking wheels that were a little smaller and looked better overall.

It was well done and seen cruising the coastal area on other days. The way it was set up would fit right in to the latest craze in van life. A lot of folks are spending gobs of money driving “tallish” sprinter vans that look like they will fall over in the first blasting of a strong off shore wind days, we get here along the coast. It starts in the far reaches of the inland valleys and funnels toward the ocean picking up speed along the way.

It is hard to imagine trying to handle such tall vans in those windy conditions. Let along the feeling of leaning when making sweeping turns on the winding roads everywhere. But, this old Chevy van had the right stance, low and seemed to be stable with wider tires that fit into the wheel well quite nicely.

    Jnaki

If we had our choice to get into the van life, this would be the way to get involved with the interior structures for an open door view of the ocean and high mountain cliff top views… YRMV

    Note:
The last time we saw this Chevy Panel Truck, he had some different wheels. But, we did see him recently on the road and the wheels were different than before and much nicer looking. I/we will certainly get a photo or two of panel truck on our next photo op.
