Econo-Altered (E/A) was supposed to have been a "low-cost" cl*** for the "little guy," but it was instantly invaded by Pro-Stock level engines and it really didn't last as long as people had hoped. The good thing is that there was a wide variety of cars that showed up to play, including this Challenger funny car.
This was Al Vander Woude's last funny car. (His son, Donnie, would put together a Dodge Avenger-bodied car in 2000 - I was fortunate enough to be the clutch monkey on the car.) After this they went blown hydro racing and then sprint cars with Greg Weld - of Weld Wheels fame - as one of their drivers.
