Well, I'll never pay registration again.

That's cool. But does it imply caveats like car shows only, no daily driving etc?

That’s awesome! Hopefully this deal will catch on across the nation

Mississippi has the antique plate, unrestricted driving as far as I can find out. It used to be a one-time fee of $25, but has increased to $50 now. I have them on both my old cars.

It does, but I live in a small town with only 3500 people so I doubt it will be a problem.

The regular biannual registration was $120. They knocked off $13 as a farewell gesture.

New Jersey has no fee on antique (QQ) plates. Some mild restrictions, but not a big deal.

Had them on several of my cars here in Oregon for the last 20 or so years. Yes there are restrictions but NEVER have been stopped or questioned about where I was going or what I was doing. Unless you are doing something REALLY stupid the cops don't have time to check and see if your trip is a proper trip for the plates. I have the original 55 Oregon plate registered as a collector plate, one time fee then good forever. The guy at the DMV tried to blow smoke about huge fines if you were using the car as an every day driver. One of the guys in our hot rod club is the retired state weighmaster and has all the information for plates at his fingertips, not so according to the lawbooks he showed us. Each state is different!

Another point I forgot to mention, NJ does not require you to run a front license plate if you have antique plates although they give you two..

Oregon only gives you one antique plate.

Texas is just the one rear plate, and is $65(?) for 5 years. No inspections, but along the same lines, I'm told this is the final year for the annual (regular DD registration) inspection requirements!!! Not sure why, or even if it's good or bad.

I just re-registered my car with the new color plates, good for 2 years... only $214... normal fee is around $180.

Missouri has year of manufacture registration. I found a 1956 Missouri plate and used that on my car. I think it was less than $50 for a lifetime. There are some restrictions but those can be worked around.
