as a long time auction goer, i have been buying 1950s style refrigerators (non-working) just to get the doors. most have a nice, rounded shape that can be cut up and made into a grille shell to fit the radiator that you are using.

Maybe “V” the Model A shell. Would require a bit of metalwork. And it would need some sort of a grille.

    30 model a coupe.
Im thinkin it could be cool with something different in the front. The 37 ford truck and 37 Dodge truck are my favorites as for now. I think those can be made into something cool. Full hood.

22A83878-E8EF-4AAC-93B2-DF91E7A0E7C7.jpeg Another idea that was fun to think about but this is as far as I went with it. I was thinking about sectioning out the broken bars, making the grille about 2/3’s size . Some imagination is required here I’m afraid. In the end I decided to develop the other grille that I had and it was a lot of fun, making it look as good as I could make it look. I would encourage others to take a grille that they think might be nice and work on the idea. Don’t be afraid of failure. Just enjoy trying it.ATTACH=full]5738973[/ATTACH]

Wow! This is inspiring! I didn't realize that there was any other shell to put on a Hot Rod besides the '32 Ford! Even if it made the hood run higher than the cowl, even if you dropped it way in front of the front axle leaving a big gap to the motor. How many did Henry make that slow-selling year? It's amazing that almost all of them have been found!

    Thanx!!!

Is it true that they were the inspiration for the 58 Edsels?

  8. I'd like to see a 38 Chevy or a 38 Ford standard grille on a 32-34 Ford coupe.

Adler grille - very similar in size (and shape) to a '32 with cool louvers...

  13. Always liked this one as well.

Then always loved the quad headlight setups on the show rods of the time like the Silver Sapphire or more well know as the Little Deuce Coupe

I think the Hudson terraplane grille is neat. (Pic from internet) DSCN3682.JPG
