    Howdy,
Easy for moat of you however I have had difficulties identifying these wheels on my 1929 Ford Panel...

One wheel has an inside diameter of 5 1/2 and the other wheel has 6 1/2 inside diameter or where the wheel cap would go.

Can you help me identify these wheels?

    Thnx, pics attached

    Two more snaps for reference.
One side has the 6 1/2 diameter cap hole, the other has the 5 3/4 diameter cap hole... I don't know the year of either wheel.

    Thnx
    Jes

Sure looks like stock '35 Ford wire wheels, but I can't help on the two different center diameters....

EDIT: top in first pic is a Kelsey Hayes bent spoke, second is a stock '35.

The first photo is a Kelsey Hayes often referred to as a bent spoke.
Desirable with mates as a set.

I love those bent spoke wheels. My truck came with three of the stock 35s and one of the bend spoke Kelsey Hayes... cost limits me to going all Kelsey Hays at the moment so I found a fouther stock 1935 and will paint them to match when the time comes. Thanks much for all the help!

What’s the diameter of the wheel? Sure looks bigger than 16” in those pics. The straight spoke wheel is a standard Ford, but the other is not a Kelsey Hayes made for a Ford. Their bent spokes had the same hubcap hole diameter as the Ford so the original hubcap could be used. I think that bent spoke is for some Mopar or something else.

Another aftermarket wheel company back then was Motor Wheel, and their spoke shape was very similar to the bent spoke you have. But the wheels they made for use on Fords also had the Ford size hubcap like KH did.

Also, you should get some good repro lug nuts, not those Autozone specials. The right ones don’t have such a big taper and will get you more thread engagement.

Kelsey Hays wheels will have KH stamped on the wheel, later wheels they are stamped on the hub

Hi & thnx for the information!
Is it possible for these to to 18" wheels?
I ***umed 16" -- but the tape says 18" diameter on the wheels.

    Isn't the 1935 wheel 16" x 4" -- I hope I bought the right wheel lol

Also, I have new lug nuts on the way from a reputable mdl a ford dealer, this for the heads up.

The one with the 5.75" hole is a Ford wheel, it looks like it's a 17" so '33-'34

The one with the 6.5" hole is a "mid-range" wheel made by Motor Wheel that came stock on lots of things in many different configurations. Ones with 5 on 5.5 could be from a Buick, Olds, or Graham.

I'm having a heck of a time finding out for sure what wheel this is... idk if I'm measuring right...

Do the images attached help? I'd like to get matching but want to make sure I get the right sized wheel so I don't have to buy new tires hah

    Thnx

  12. The tire bead sits about a 1/2" inside the wheel rim so those look to be 17" wheels and tires. Are the tire sizes marked?
In that first photo it appears like there may only be about a 1/4" of stud thread engagement in the lugnuts of the "bent spoke" wheel. If so, that's not enough to be safe. The camera perspective could be tricking my eyes, though.
Here's a suggested minimum I copied from the internet.......
"When installing a wheel lug nut, the thread engagement length of the nut must be at least equal to the diameter of the stud. For example, if the stud is 1/2 inch in diameter, the nut must engage the stud by at least 1/2 inch. If the nut doesn't engage enough, you can use a longer stud or nut. If you need a longer nut, it will need to protrude further through the wheel hole to reach the stud."

    Hey @kingjes
    Howdy from Dennis in Seattle.
I was born there in A****er in 53, at Castle A.F.B. , when it was active.
A shame you didn't get to meet or get to know @A****er Mike, who p***ed away recently.
He was a wealth of information and could have been very helpful to you as well.
