We need reliable, communicative, diligent craftsmen like you in this hobby Leo. Keep doing work exactly like shown and described and you will be booked up for months. I have a 37 axle, so I'm stoked to see that example. Kudos for what you are doing - just do it consistently and take HRTH's advice above. Good stuff.

Would like to narrow my model A axle, and price sounds right, but needs shackle bolt remains removed.
    and shipping to/from HI.

Old thread but I had a bad experience with Okie Joe. Also had Sid drop some 32-34 spindle steering arms for me to go below the 32 bones and they went in the iron pile and I did my own.

Can you straighten a 32 axle?Came out of an old race. Looking at it from the top it kind of has an s curve.

I always set these axles up at 0 to 1/2° positive camber.

+1 or more camber was fine back in those days when tires had an 2" or so contact width of tire on the ground and the tires were round on the face. It made the cars drive better.

But now contact width on most tires is at least 5" and a flat face across the tread that much camber will just wear off the outside of the tires, then what's done is the tire is toe'd out to compensate for the positive camber wear. Then tires don't last as long or pick up weird wear patterns.....

I hope that those of you that had a bad experience with Joe or Sid let them know about it. Not just on here . I’ve had good experience with Sid and products from his shop . I’ve bought a used engine from Joe but no axles .

Just another tidbit. About 5-10 years ago, I needed an aluminum Navarro manifold fixed. I sent it to "Okie Joe" and he did a half-assed job. Basically, he didn't do what he said he was going to do and never finished and charged me full price

At least he didn't ruin it.

I'd see if he can supply a core - it would probably be cheaper than the shipping. Faster for sure.

He could look into shipping to you, but you’d need to handle sending yours to him.

@Gearhead79 I will be contacting you soon to do a A axle for me. Are you planning to go to LA Roadster show this year? It would save me on shipping one way. Thanks....

Gearhead79 hasn’t visited here in two months, he’s probably busy dropping axles and doing stuff. Maybe best to text him at number listed in the first post.
