    Mark:

Your post #214, I couldn't help but notice the El Capitola possibly being ready to load up for the trip home. Some of these guys go to considerable expense and trouble to share their vehicles with others in the hobby. I assume Jack Walker (in photo) is transporting his own stuff, along with some other notable vehicles, which were in attendance at CCR? Again, the travel expenses, including hotel / food, etc., can add up real fast. Figuring the value of many of these cars, insurance and again, all these expenses, we don't realize and appreciate the effort put forth for the hobby.

I know some of the cars get driven, but any idea of the percentage being transported?

This is the Wes Gaunce Buick, a survivor custom, correct? IMHO, if there's a car that absolutely deserves a full-on, show quality shine it's this one. One of my all-time favorites. Satin is okay but I'd sure love to see it with gloss!
    Yes. X2!
Beautiful. As featured in TRJ #86!

I don't know the percentage but there were a lot of trucks and trailers there..... maybe half of the cars were trailered?

This looks like the car I saw back in 95 at the Keystone Rod & Custom nationals. Built buy a fellow in New York I think. It showed up in my area briefly. Super nice car

That's great to hear. And it's wonderful to know that it survived and is being well taken care of.
Not to derail the thread, but here's a page scan from a feature in Car Craft magazine, February 1964.

Again, thanks a bunch for recapping this event every year. It's on my list.... ;)

The sunken roof makes me wonder if the Buick was featured in Custom Rodder magazine back in the nineties?

Great show as always, new the location just made it even better. If you are someone on the fence about making the trip to see it don't wait...... plan to go next year and just do it!
We all talk about the shows/events in the past and how sometimes we didn't realize how good they were until they are gone. Those of us who make this trip every year, we know that this is a special event and want to be a part of it.
Sill jealous @Moriarity for getting to drive El Capitola, luckiest guy alive.
