I was in an old timers shop today and spotted some old flathead heads and intake that say ord on them, never heard of them the heads are 24 stud.Whats the story on them are they worth buying? The guy didnt know much about them he just said they were old hot rod parts of the day.
Ill offer him 10.00 and well go from there.Ive never seen a set except for mabe at smiths museum, are they fairly rare? And what would be a fair price to offer him if he doesnt go for the ten spot?
haha... if you're really gonna offer him $10.oo... get his info so I can buy the parts after he runs you off.
Mal Ord was the man. His stuff where known be good working speed parts. I would think about buying for about 1/ 1.000.000 of a second before doing so. This is 1.class hot rod history. Paul
early ord intakes had a problem with fuel puddling at one end...later ones had a dam in them to keep that from happening im not sure if you can see it down the carb holes or not but i think the early ones run rich in the back just fyi zach
I remeber having heard this before somewhere, now that you mention it. May have been here on the HAMB or in some mag. Can't remember. Think the problem was due to a horisontal log style chamber. Paul
a friend of mine has one and he was explaining it to me...but yea its the big open center section that collects the fuel and puddles it or so he said zach
Is there any info out there on how many heads and intakes were produced? It seems like not many were made and I’m sure many of those ended up on race cars. I know it’s an old thread, but not much info out there on Ord parts
