Hey, new to this site. Looking for some info on the rear end of my 1951 Chieftain. I'm planning on doing a ***mins swap and I don't know what to do about a rear end. Would the original rear end hold up to a ***mins 12v or do I need something more beefy? Any suggestions?

12v ***mins makes 400-440 ft lbs. Highest torque for Pontiac straight 8 was 220 ft lbs.
    Think about it.

At a tow company I worked at, the boss's son built one with a '47 Olds sedan. He cut the wheelbase on the 2wd/ auto truck to fit the car, kept the trans & dual wheel Dana. Hardest thing was fitting the radiator
