    Hello,

We talk about Edsels as if they were cursed. The step child of a nicely designed Ford family of cars. Isn’t the long line of GM cars all interchangeable as per the design team using similar models with their own looks? Then when something like a 58 Impala line shows up, the stylists now all get in a tizzy as far as looks in styling in the other GM families. But, throughout the auto industry, the designs come and go.

Since the late 60s, the designs have gone in most folks eyes. YRMV

I found a nice design for a station wagon modified to So Cal beach cruiser/surf wagon. The roots of the 60-61 Ford styling is evident, but in this case, that is a good thing.

With a few changes to make the stodgy design of 4 doors look a little better, a Nomad swept back style and eliminating one door made the difference. Now, where are the rest of the sleek 60-61 Edsel models along this styling design?

For those that like a little more flash, gold pinstriping highlighting a red color certainly will attract many a comment on the road and at shows. Also, using the Ford style of wire wheels gives that added touch of being a well thought out design for the general public.

By 1960, the original Chevy Nomad had come and gone and that styling had totally disappeared. So, this Edsel would have cornered the market with its cool looks and features

    upload_2024-6-21_5-40-10.png
But, for those that like a low slung design, a chopped version with a wider roof support worked into the design much better… As usual YRMV

Perhaps, the wider “Nomad” angle support looks more substantial.

Sometimes, a person gets lucky and finds money in an old suit pocket from years ago.
Yesterday, while working on a current art project, I looked in a desk drawer that doesn't often get used, and I discovered something very cool, that I had put in that drawer over 20 years ago, and had forgot all about it.
Behold the flawless hood ornament, that I had re chromed, and also had a special piece of plexiglass cut for it, that has a nice mild green tint to it, that only shows up on the edge when angled in the light.

It reminds me of Captain "NEMO'S" submarine, the Nautilus, from the Disney film, 20,000 leagues under the Sea.
You all have a great weekend,
    Thanks from Dennis.

Some Tanks and Helmet I pinstriped for a buddy, I wasn't crazy about the design and colors on the gray one, but I was going off a picture he had from the early 70's and not sure who the striper was??

Thank You for supporting the chrome industry and sharing.
Chrome has always been one of my favorite obsessions

    Please excuse the punniness
You certainly took some pains, hitting the nailhead on that nailhead.
    Magnificent work

  25. '41 Buick. '56 Holden licence guard. Looks like I was thinking widened '54 Holden bumpers, but the shaping is wrong here. I smash these out after shows on Sundays, they are always imperfect.

^^^^^^One question. How you do that?
Nice Nice Ooh ya ( the artwork )
    So's the car.

  27. Thanks, and if the question comes my way? Go to a Cars & Coffee (cold here in Australia , it's winter time)- draw a car or two, usually from 08:00-around 11:00 am, take it home, re-scribe it ( and perhaps modify the car) in HB pencil, photo it, photoshop it, present it on FB.
