  6. I think of Bob a lot too. I made a box to hold oil and stuff I might need on the road in my off topic Mercury. Under the flake is a Bob K memorial sticker. He cruises with me everywhere I go. He is missed..........E

I like many others enjoyed the road trip threads he posted over the years. When his family auctioned off his belongings I bid on and ended up with a box full of his stuff that should have sold for a lot more. Included in that batch is the HAMB keychain holder that a member made and put up in one of the HAMB fund raising auctions that Bob won in the auction.

IMG_4768.jpeg Six years. Life goes quick doesn’t it.

I’m still handing out the little bobk gnome stickers I made and sharing stories. Bought a few things from his auction that I look at every day.

A testament to the effect one person can have.

  12. Bob was such a character that all who were around him much will remember him forever. :) I found him to be 2 people. The hot rod guy and the insurance business man. I have said before, he was a smart guy. :)

  13. Sure doesn't seem that long. It was always fun catching up with Bob at some of the big events.

I was around Bob at several events and followed his travels here, but sure wish I could have got to know him better. He was one of a kind and is definitely missed. He is still somewhat my motivation to get out and meet HAMBers any time I travel.

Got to spend a little time with him back at the '09 Lone Star. Moments to remember.

I've got his What Would BobK Do sticker on the dash of my '57, along with a Buddy Christ dash figurine just like he had. I've also been collecting valve covers like the huge collection he had, I remember seeing that on his garage wall and thinking it was so cool. I've even got one of his old finned aluminum Chevy 6 covers to use.

Still impressed he put over 200,000 miles on that green convertible over the years. I think about that a lot, he's still an influence.

Crazy, I gave Bob a tour of my work place here in Australia when he visited, and he introduced me to Speed Week in Wendover. I got hooked and he always had a room for me. That Guy was something else....

Bob and I met by playing frogger to exchange goods in the middle of South Congress during LSRU one night and he always made a point to find me in person every time we were at the same event for the next several years. He was always such a positive guy and made me smile.

I met the guy twice. Talked online with him hundreds of times. He was a true steward of our hobby.
