Customs Correct 1941 Chevy back up lamp

Hello can anyone help me out with pictures or info on what is the correct back up lamp for a 1941 Chevy coupe ? Is it stamped with guide or does it not have any stamp on it ? I’ve been hearing that if it’s not stamped with guide then it is correct , I’m confused, any help is greatly appreciated thank you

 

I may be wrong, but I would be surprised if a '41 HAD a back up light!

First offered in '38. The '41 is bullet shaped, smaller than a B-31 Guide. I had a picture but can't find it.

 

this is supposed to be 37 - 41. you can get this lens from Chev's of the 40's

 

I am in the same boat, looking for one as well. and a P*** light, those are the bees knees

 

These pictures aren’t the best but on my ‘41 , the light is body color except for the bezel which is chrome. I can’t remember if the lens has guide on it. I don’t have a pic of mine but maybe this will help.

 

did they have a switch on the dash or was it hooked up to the shift linkage?
1949 had a device attached to the shift linkage in the engine compartment

 

Mine has what looks like a light switch. One for the heater and one for the light.

Mine looks factory on my coupe. I saw what the seller said was an NOS light and he wanted 700.00

Most likely all were dealer installed unless really special display vehicle. Given the volume Chevrolet was producing, ***'y line installation would hold up the process.
Could have been installed on truck if buyer wanted one; only listed in option folders for p***. car.
