Has anyone seen this conversion before?

Sorry about the duplicate post. I tried twice to post this in Traditional Hot Rods, but it keeps popping up in Traditional Customs.

Had 60 years hot rod flathead v8 experience—-seen 4-6 Arduns in person even an ultra rare Ardun 60 years ago at Specialzed Auto Parts Houston,Tx. ,but never seen or heard of a conversion for a flathead Ford 6—I would buy it if given the chance. IMG_1345.jpeg IMG_0723.jpeg IMG_0011.jpeg

Stay away from it, two many carbs on it and nothing but a headache to tune.

Very unusual never seen one this is called an F head conversion the exhaust is still in the block the intake valves are overhead. The Madis oil pump is not rare seen a few and had a few myself as well.

Wild! Would love to have one of those F head conversions. Never knew they existed!

Interestingly, Speedster's doesn't appear to say MADIS nor have the ears on the top, but I guess they could have been removed.
Unfortunately we don't have pictures taken at the same angles for the two engines, it would be helpful to see the front of Speedster's for instance.

If I saw one of them for sale at a price I could afford I would snap the sellers hand of to buy it.

Here’s a shot looking down at the front of the engine. Interesting that it has the optional distributor/ mag drive on the timing cover and what looks like a magneto installed.

If it is available get it! It could be for a boat. They did a lot of aftermarket speed equipment for boats in the day. Nicson did a lot and the early Wayne heads were used on boats. That one looks like it has been around the water.

  15. Wonder if Earl Edgerton drew any inspiration from this setup ? IMG_0639.jpeg IMG_0636.jpeg
