    Still Kickin

I'm not sure if it's ok to post this but I had to let you know that 'Still Kickin' , my husband passed away on June 23, 2024. I know he hadn't been on this site for awhile because he was ill for the past 3 years. He loved this site and always told me stories that he read about. Not sure if anyone remembers him, but in the 60's he talked about racing on Woodward Avenue in Michigan where he lived as a young man in his Cobra Jet. He moved to Arizona years ago and after always 'building' something, I finally convinced him to get a 'turn key' so he could just enjoy himself. He did and bought a 48 Ford Coupe, 350 and we had so much fun riding around in that car. I had to give up my 91 Corvette, a 64 Lincoln and a bunch of cash..but it was worth it see his face when he was driving that car. I will miss him dearly.

Very sorry for your loss. It seems that we are losing a lot of hot rodders, and the world is a lonely place without them.

Face it , if you were a teenager in 1965 , your around 80 now , plus the lifestyle many of us led was not very conducive to longevity .

Clearly you have suffered a great loss but what you have shared with us is testimony to just how much you loved your husband. You not only supported the interest he had in his hobby, you graciously gave up two automobiles “and a bunch of cash” for something he truly enjoyed.
Everyone should be so fortunate to have such a loving partner. God bless you.

Very sorry to hear this. "I finally convinced him to get a 'turn key' so he could just enjoy himself." tells me all I need to know, let me just say I'm super glad you did this.

My list of friends, now dead, is getting long. Two murders, two suicides, two from cancer, some unknown causes. Mrs Still Kicking sounds like the best kind of wife

Sorry for your loss, my condolences to you and your family. I understand your grief, I lost my wife of 53 years last year. She was my copilot and she knew I loved my cars and never said a word against my hobby.
