Anyone have any recent pictures of vintage teardrop camper trailers? I'm doing my homework to see what the different makes and models are out there? I'm really looking for info on the teardrops that use car/ truck fenders and other automotive accessories. And also looking for small to mid size trailers for sale. Thanks for sharing

There were several popular brands. There are several CDs for sale on Ebay for about 10 bucks with plans and info. Some are pretty exacting plans to original ones from the 30's or 40's. I've got the frame from one that was built out of Model T frame rails way back when and runs Ford Wide 5 wheels and hubcaps.
1947 Kit camper repainted to match original paint configuration. Came with a complete (heavy, WWII era) canvas 'stand-up' connected tent.
Built my teardrop from a set of plans from Speedway. Did a poor job on getting the rear door to seal. Since then, I found Oregon Batman (or close to that) on Youtube who shows an excellent approach to building one.
Hello, As was the case back in the 50s and early 60s, I worked at a place called the Kit Trailer Company near our Westside of Long Beach house. They were well known for the small “Kit” style of trailer. 1947 Kit Manufacturing teardrop camper trailer I was in need of a job, so I could go on a week long vacation surf trip to Baja Mexico. So, I went to various hot rod shops, and near one by our house, I stopped at a huge trailer manufacturer’s two block square location we had driven by 1000s of times. In later years, same buildings, same location, a different company: I got the job, an eye opening work environment and tell tale signs of my future in that line of work. It was several weeks later that I quit having two specific assembly line jobs, drill press operator that drilled three holes in one shot. Then “hand sander” of completed doors for the next station on the assembly line. it was a different experience on an assembly line. I made enough money to supply living in Baja Mexico coastal camping/surfing for 2 weeks. Jnaki Needless to say, I managed to staple my thumb by holding the “T” section of frames and using the staple gun, it went right into my thumb. The whole place laughed and the secretary gave me a band-aid to stop the bleeding. It did not stop, but I was given a new job of sanding, so I quit. old Friday Art work The products were good despite some of the workers or slackers on the assembly line. One was a teardrop trailer. I've got an old Ideal brand 15 ft camp trailer that I bought from a friend years ago to turn into a little flat bed trailer but now that I don't really need a little flatbed trailer I am thinking about stripping the body that is in very bad shape off, trimming the frame down to large Tear drop size with a bit more room but not big and tow it behind the 48.
A couple of Tear Drop Trailers, my brother and I built several years ago. The first one is one we bought to rebuild. In the picture it is just started. The second one on my '55 Chevy PU is our first of many that we built.
Locally made NZ one, very small. That’s my boy when he was about three and is almost the perfect size for him! Think it’s 60s maybe?
