Then you might remember Pete ran either his small block Chev or 289 Ford engine. He was repairing or massaging the Cammer at that time.

Did you know, Sneaky's real name was Lew Russell Robinson ! The other guys in the photo, Jim Albrich in the Crower jacket, the tall guy was Jim Rockstad. The other guy is probably Steve Krieger.

Marty -- how fast did the Packard go -- on gas or fuel and when?

    (Probably needed a Herbert cam.)

Brett, welcome to the HAMB, it’s going to take some sleuthing to find out who got it from Tom Willford’s estate. That Bantam was one of our favorites at McMinnville.

I am still looking for info on merv Buchanan's grape ape anglia I've tried sending messages to individuals that may have known him but have gotten no replys. Car I have may not be his but was at woodburn around 80 and was purple last time it was painted. Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction 20230618_170105.jpg

Here is a new video on a racer that grew up in the Medford area and got his start racing there. Noel Black

Found these interesting articles about Cordy Jensen.

"Cordy Jensen is a longtime Eugene-area restaurateur and a visionary of the Oregon craft-brewing industry."
"He started drag-racing street cars in his teens, and by his mid-20s was rocketing along asphalt up and down the West Coast in top-fuel dragsters."

    The rest of the story

Another article (may have been posted prior).

"A couple of guys from Eugene, Oregon named Cordy Jensen and Bob McCabe partnered up on a first class top fuel dragster. The beautiful blue metal-flake racer had the best of everything: Race Car Engineering chassis and a big-time 392 Hemi Chrysler by Jim Albrich (motor builder extraordinaire) of Columbia Racing Engines in Portland. At CRE there was just a simple straight-forward motto: “Horsepower is our Specialty”....No question about that!"

Good read on Cordy and Bob. Their racing was discussed in this thread way back and Bob joined in. I have no idea if both men are still around the Eugene area. They would both be in their 80's.

  19. I DID reply. I know nothing about your Anglia, you might contact the Pizza Vendor restaurant in Scappoose. Their website shows pics of Marv's race cars on the walls, Marv and Nancy owned the place for many years, their daughter MAY be the present owner that is all I know. I haven't been back to Scappoose in 40 years!
    .Good luck.

Don Ringer's partner in the cars last name was Souders, I never knew his first name. Also, how many people remember Dale "Tiger" Whitney, he built 5 spoke wheels, in North Portland, near Radkes.

I’ve never felt worse about a round win than when I put Dave on the trailer at PIR on a Wednesday night. Simply dropped my head as I walked across the pit to shake his hand after I parked him. Felt horrible about it and he couldn’t stop laughing. Great guy.

Was Dave involved in Jack Coonrods' Willys in later years, for some reason my foggy memory has them connected.
