I'm looking at the Coker tire catalog and I'm debating if I should go with the Firestone 750-16 and 600-16 combo or to try the Knobby tires 650-16 rear and 600-16 front.
I love the look of both but was wondering if the Knobby tires are gonna wear in a New York minute and make some crazy noise like offroad tires.
I'll be running 4" wheels in front, 4 1/2" in rear. Oh, the car is my crazy 27 Nash project.
    Opinions/experiences, pro and cons.

I run the knobbies on the Peter Beater. NOISEY!!!! Other than that, they do fine. Really tore up some shit on my cousin's go-kart track. 30 ft. roosters of dirt, mud, grass, whatever was in the way. Great fun.

what brands of knobbys are out there in bias ply ...i'm curiuos about them too....i've got 20miles of gravel to my cabin in the woods

  8. I got them on my track roadster pickup; so far so good after only a few miles late this season. One is a bit out of round so I'll have to deal with Coker on that this winter. Roadstar had them on his '32 hiboy roadstr for a couple years and loved them.

The ones I was looking at were the Knobby Firestone ones from Coker.

You will not get as many miles out of knobby tires as with street tread. They will sing you a tune. But they will grab dirt and go and they look cool. I would not run them on front myself, they don't corner well.

I'm glad this topic came up, I've been thinking about running them on the back of my T project. I have a pair of the firestone dirt trackers for the front.

That's excactly what I was looking for. In Los Angeles we don't get to do alot of "offroading", so knobby tires are out for me, I'm going with the 750-600 combo.

I know they look cool as hell. I may put some on the back of my '29 pickup. This pic is form the 2005 HCP, tires are Denmans.
