Unfortunately the cage is the legal part, 1-5/8" x 1/8" wall. The main frame is 1-1/8" diameter and 1-1/4" is the minimum now. Back in the early days some six cylinder dragsters and altereds were only 1" diameter. Let's leave this thread to the original subject matter.
The top plate can be swapped out for a blower plate. Easier to add the relief while designing and building than later.

I’m gonna be honest I skipped reading every single reply to this but here is my buddy Chris’s gmc 6 with a brace of SU’s. He built the intake and exhaust and along with the rest of the car and got it in the road this spring. snagged some photos and still shots of video from his Instagram to share what I could see of the intake etc.
