unfortunately, i've seen this type of thing happen to a number of my older friends. a gold digger latches on, thinking she's found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. even happened to my brother; no physical stuff, but she brainwashed him, turning him away from his family and friends.

  3. Wasn't there a care-giver incident in recent years, maybe at an open house or an auction at Gene's?

My uncle was over 70, he had a younger woman taking care of him. She was about 20 years younger and not bad looking. She lived on her own, I think she took him around for the most part and never pulled anything on him. I guess my uncle had her on his payroll.

We must protect all our national treasures including Mr. Winfield.
He is indeed, a cherished living legend.
Wishing Gene a speedy recovery with tons of prayers headed his way.

We need to watch over all the elderly….neighbors and friends. No one should ever be abused at any age…..

I stopped at MOJAVE NAPA store, and ask where Winfields shop is, the counter man started to tell, another guy interrupted and said: WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO THERE?
That was in May 5th 2024
    Anyway, what a disappointment,
I google Gene, His net worth: $2 million. WOW !

I stopped there on my way back from WA state last June. Place was closed up. I thought about it and suddenly realized he was probably getting setup for the upcoming roadster show in Pomona.

They had a big auction and are/ were/ trying to sell the property a few years ago. I wouldn’t expect it to be anything more than a ghost
Town at this point if not owned by someone else now.

They’ve been on the road in that rv for months now.

this is becoming a big problem with senior citizens and younger male and female caretakers in the USA and there needs to be stricter laws for this.
    hang in there gene.

Also Sweden, also blocked. They probably block people from other countries as they probably won't be buying anyway.

Blocked from UK as well, as you say likely blocked to all outside of USA connections.

Country blocking is a tactic for site security. There are a few countries from which a huge number of hacking attempts originate. None of course are Nordic countries in my research/experience.

The property details are available on Zillow.com and Trulia.com

Why was this Broad appointed Gene's caretaker in the first place? I was always taught that family comes first, and you personally take care of your own. Who's really at fault here?
With that said, it's a damned shame what this Hot Rod and Custom Icon has had to endure, especially this late in life.

  27. Who commenting on this thread
    has elderly parents in assisted
    care ?

Or have given up their own Life
to provide 24/7/365 care for them ?

As folks age - they need assistance.

Most folks in their late 90’s cannot
attend to their basic needs and
    require constant attention.

    That takes Time and Money.

I'm of the age where unfortunately our folks are getting up there in age and are starting to need care. My Dad lived with my wife and I for 2 years while he dealt with treatments for stage 4 stomach and liver cancer. Doctors told us he had 2 years tops, I didn't think he would make it to that Christmas, but here he is, just past year 4 and still going, and with a good quality of life. But I know what it is to have to make arrangements with work and family to drive a sick relative to their doctors appointments, sit in an ER all night, manage medications, and correspond with medical providers since the patient isn't fully grasping the situation. It sucks. My situation certainly isn't unique, and I'm sure many others here have similar tales.

In my wife's work as an elder law attorney, she deals with these issues on a daily basis. While it's never easy, proper planning when one is still healthy greatly eases the burden in terms of time and money on family when someone ages past the point of capacity. It's money and time well spent to speak to specialist in this field of law in advance of an issue, since crisis planning is rarely the best option.
