Happy birthday Isky…. I’ve been to lunches with him, Nick Arias jr., and Joe Fontana….what store is those guys can tell.
Ed still live up in Lake Isabella area? Used to drive past his house taking the jet boat for hot laps up there..
Went to the drag races at Green Valley Raceway back in the late 60’s——a “pop up” shower in July doused the track and me also(in my 20’s). I was walking in the pits in a totally soaked, drenched t shirt.Ed Isky was there “hawking” his t shirts and Isky products. He spied me in the drenched shirt and said,”here kid, looks like u could use a dry t shirt” and gave me one to wear. I wore that t shirt out and always reminisced about the free Isky t shirt from the legend himself. Flatheads Forever!!!
Happy birthday to a legend and a super cool guy. Had the chance to meet him and chat for a just a bit at the Meltdown Drags; he was just a young pup at 96 then!
A living legend no doubt, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED!!! You had a big hand in making this hobby, lifestyle, obsession, however you want to label it, what it is. Thank you for your very large contribution!
Belated happy birthday. This photo popped up for me today, Ed with the SEMA trophy, think he was SEMA president at the time. (Trophy is now in the British Motor Museum with Sydney Allard’s dragster)
Found an ISKY book in a box of stuff. He signed it at Meltdown, said it was the first tech manual he published. Happy B DAY CAMFATHER.
