Back before airbags took over there was a lot of non lowrider cars with hydraulics.Post them if you got them.
No lowriders to add here, but that there is the car that got me into hot rods from the ads in car stereo magazines. It's also the reason for my avatar car.
1991 SRM article. Howdy Ledbetter ‘32 sedan. I was blown away by this car. European style wheels, hydraulics and if I remember right flush fit side gl***. Howdy was known for his high end street rod interiors.
I still have that issue of HR magazine. His car was also widened as well.I recently watched an old car show on YouTube with his car in it and was shocked that he was driving it around and hitting the switches! Always ***umed the car was a trailer queen and the hydraulics was used strictly to get on and off the trailer.
Not really a hotrod or streetrod but Rick Newtons heavily chopped gmc was a very nice build that used hydraulic suspension.
Pete Aardema built a rear transverse SBC with OHC conversion and it had a suspension that had coil-overs in front that pivoted and locked using hydraulics. Hit the switch and it would move up or down, release the switch and it would lock there and still have normal suspension. I don't think it made any mags.
