Hot Rods Big Daddy's 55 2 door wagon gasser

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Lloyd's paint & glass, Jul 1, 2024.

  1. I am a bit relieved, bought a set of slots from @Radicalratrod , thought they were Ford, but they have the oval washers, so turn the washers around and they're Chevy. So, if the rear end in the car is worthy, I still have wheels! Oh and the American racing TT2 showed up, I don't hate them. I have the feeling that I can learn to live with them :D 20240710_204625.jpg 20240710_204707.jpg

  2. Makes sense to me. Shackle behind would slightly shorten wheelbase under load while shackle in front slightly lengthen wheelbase. In hairy situations I'd rather have a suddenly slightly longer wheelbase than shorter

Incidentally, my '54 Chevy Panel had the shackles on the front of the springs...my '46 Ford pickup had them on the rear of the springs. I guess you prefer the "Ford" way.:p

I think the shackles go to the front on front springs and to the back on rear springs.

You can find them on Ebay or at larger swap meets like at the Frog Follies. Got my last set at the Frog Follies a few years ago for spares.

I can remember throwing hands years ago with a guy , over a stupid remark , I unloaded with my best shot . He shook his head a few times and says “ GD that hurt , we can do this but dont hit me in the ear again ! “ at that moment , I determined it’s not a good idea , to make stupid threats . We both chuckled a bit slugged a cold one down and discussed who was the most stupid .

Nothing to do with the teasin , just reminded me of life events , I have traveled through . I have learned to just watch the show for the total performance , you don’t have to be the main event .

That means he needs a pair of center caps. I think they look like this. upload_2024-7-10_21-56-23.jpeg
Came off the 14s on one of my boat trailers. Won’t work with bearing buddies.

  14. Lol I immediately jumped to Google after Mark said that! Yeah they're available. Scared me though lol

    They
They aren’t perfect but if you need em, I’ll send em. I don’t plan on using slots except for the slicks so I won’t need them.

  18. Mine take the 5 screws. I ordered a set from ebay, but I appreciate the offer! Screenshot_20240710-231633_Samsung Internet.jpg

  19. Those E-T wheels use different washers for different bolt patterns. What you have are 4 1/2" & 5" when flipped. 20230323_120444.jpg
These are GM 4 3/4" NOS but you can still buy them from Team III wheels I believe. They come washers with the correct lug nuts.

  20. That's what Moriarity told me, said that the hole in the middle is 4 3/4". Thanks for the help, I'll order some

  21. No but it's not a 5" pattern, I put 4 3/4" wheels on it

I “Slim Fast” the bolt pattern on my 9.3. It accepts 4 3/4” Chevy wheels. :)

  24. Does the axle face tell anything on a tri five Chevy?

  25. I borrowed a picture from Boston Camaro on an earlier thread, this is his 9.3 axle
