I had been really enjoying watching the fordor build up. But I like this even better. Nice proportions.

Holy snikes I somehow had the reply notifications to this thread going into my junk mail-sorry but my lack of response:eek:

Thanks for all of the input on the change, I appreciate them all. I've been getting alot done in the past couple weeks on it. I got the doors capped, and also got the rear quarter panels capped. I also fabbed up the back cab wall, got it fit & cleco'ed in place.

I also got the bed mounted, which turned into a major project. I had to change so many things on the rear frame clip to make it work and look right now that its an RPU. The upper rear shock mount stuck up too high. The air tank is also up too high for the bed to hide. And the air-compressor, fuel pump, and fuel filter stuck up to high with the bed on also. So I redid the whole rear clip, and will relocate all that stuff low and out-of site. I still have some to go, but it looks way cleaner with that stuff out of the way. Yeah, I'll have to respray the rear clip now that I welded up all the old holes, but it really looks way better now I think. I still have to fab up some bracing and gussets, to finish up the bed, but its pretty muck there.

When I'm done I am going to fab up a sheetmetal bed tonneau cover, and punch it full of louvers

Heres a few progress pics, its starting to come together a little

Heres kind of a before pic of all the "stuff" that had to be moved to clean it up. As a sedan it was fine, as it would have been hidden, but now with a bed it was all sticking up too high. I'll just have to get shocks that are a little shorter with enough travel , and rebuild a upper shock mount to tuck them a bit lower.

I REALLY like the Fordor (of course you know why), but that RPU is bad*** too! Great "execution" of a plan! ;)

So, this sort of took the theory of "...it takes a real man to cut one up" to the limits! You cut it up TWICE!

So after all that and the reasons given and you're not going to to show US the Tudor!!?? :D

Nice post, and a nice job....But here I'm thinking, you could have made it into an integral bed "Aussie style" Ute very easily....

Which is something I'd love to have...an ultra rare body style here in the USA...I got a few pics sent to me by an Aussie and every once in a while I find them and give them a good looking over....

(I have a ultra rare Ford Comercial Body Builder's cowl that was from a 1931 USPS Mail truck--basically it is an open car cowl..with a very rare special piece of trim that adapts it to a commercial type body...I just need a set of 30-31 roadster doors now, and custom fab the rest of it...)

but I have too many irons in the fire right now....

    but maybe, "someday"... :)

I started out in life as a restorer of Model A's...yet, I turned out into a Hot Rodder....

I can see why you turned this 4 door into what you did. Serious body damage that was unrepairable,a nd a lot of work to do with all the body wood that's usually destroyed by rot...

Nice use of an aftermarket door skin to elinate a lot of fabbing....

I saw a guy who took a 4 door and made it into a Sedan Deliver (minus the rear door). his first attempt, and when I told him how Ford fabbed the rear door, he seemed eager to do that modification to the body next winter.

Nice car, and it'll turn heads....

    even as it is...

Haha yeah its a bit of a change. Once I get it fully converted to a rpu I wanna then convert it to a 32' coupe, I just haven't got all the details figured out yet...:p

Heres a pic of the tudor body. Its real nice. And its what I have ALWAYS wanted. Its really my dream car. And I just didn't want to build two sedans, so...
Heres a pic of the tudor body. I wanna get the rpu done, cuz I have the itch to get this tudor going as a highboy on 32 rails

Yeah man. I had a TON of hours into the sedan body, and it was nowhere close to being "right" in my eyes. And I don't think I could really overcome the problems that it had to make it like I wanted it. The cowl and front doors were great though. And since the rear body section and bed are all new fabbed up stuff, it will make it a real straight solid car. I am personally real happy with the detour the project took.

The aftermarket doorskin worked out great. I cut and used the beltline from the rear body section, as it was real nice. It made it real nice with minimal work and money output. When the doors open it looks like a real body, since the upper and lower beltlines match up.

Man I appreciate that a ton, I do. I realize the car won't make everybody happy, but I also realize it doesn't have to hehe. Are you ever coming down to the florida area? Its not exactly a hot rod mega-town, thats for sure! But we do have places to grab a beer or three....

Nads is actually not too far away from here-a few hours I think.

Hey your new p/u project looks great btw, I really look forward to seeing your updates on it man.

    Thanks again! Dan
