The transmission build is wrapped up and the engine is painted and ready to come home. Hope to start final assembly on the engine next week. 92 days until we leave for Oklahoma/The Gathering at the ROC 20240707_162049.jpg 20240707_162136.jpg 20240707_162411.jpg

I am looking for the last piece of the gauge puzzle. A mid to late 50's large logo curved glass speedometer, similar to this.

The rest of my gauges show some age, so something showing some yellowing (I like to call it aged ivory :)) would fit in perfect. Let me know if any of you have one available. Thanks

I'm looking for one of those, too LOL. I've missed out on a couple not paying attention to ebay very closely like I used to. That's where I've had the most luck, usually buying a group of gauges (only needing one, selling the rest as individuals or piecing together 3-gauge, 5-gauge, or 6-gauge sets). Best of luck in your search.

Mocked up some shiny bits on the freshly painted short block. Need to get busy bolting it together.

The doors had been stripped with a grinder at some point. I spent some time with 2" Scotch Brite blending discs and then 80 and 320 DA. They are presentable now

    Chrome the doors!

How about really chroming the hood, then painting all except the louvers?

1947 vs 1957 build style. The later has a little more bling factor

Gorgeous/outstanding/creative. and many more expletives. You are creating a piece of art. I think for Christmas I'll send you a bundle of polishing rags?

The whole build is off the scale, Neal. Us mere mortals can only stare in slack jawed amazement. Mart.

I've considered that, but I think I want everything painted on the outside of the car. I passed up a really nice chrome 32 shell that would have carried out the chrome theme...but it's not the vision I have for this car.

  29. SPECTACULAR! Shaping up to be one of the finest Deuce Coupes ever built! Not just the chrome, everything about it is perfect. Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Make it a glass floor...plastic will scratch. No shoes in the car

Absolutely superb build! I love it.
